Re: AFL 2008 thread
Lardy, no need to panic just because the Turkeys have strung together one win in a row. Collingwood will still kick their ass up one side of Punt Road and back down the other.
Likewise Geelong. They were due to cop a thrashing from someone but now it's happened most likely normal service will resume. If Carlton get within eight goals they'll have done OK.
But I agree St Kilda are in deep doggy-doo.

Re: AFL 2008 thread
Adelaide and Collingwood by about 12 goals each
Bulldogs too good in the midfield
Brisbane in a close one,
Geelong to bounce back quickly and play four quarters for the first time this season
Sydney over Richmond in what might be the closest game of the round
Melbourne to compound St Kilda's problems
Port because they know their season's shot to hell if they let this one go

Adelaide, Weagles (God I hate Collingwood), Bulldogs, Brisbane, Geelong (fingers crossed), Sydney, Melbourne, Fremantle (they have to win eventually).

Damn the doggies, over the years i've never been able to tip them right. I originally pick North last week then (breaking my own rule) changed my mind on Friday and went for 'scray. Someone obviously told Brad Johnson.
This week i was tempted to tip them but, remembering last week, i stuck with Hawthorn.
Next week i'll pick them so St Kilda are bound to win.

Very hard round, with the worst games to come today. Fred seems to be doing rather well.

I'd be doing even better if I hadn't attached the idiot commentary. Esp regarding the Friday night game and the Syd-Rich game today.
Caught a bit of the latest WCE debacle this morning. Absolutely everything about the Turkeys has diminished alarmingly. Even Dean Cox's nose doesn't seem to be as big as it was.

You don't think Richmond can comeback from here then? They just kicked their second.

Re: AFL 2008 thread
what do forummers think is the minimum number of wins to make the eight this year?
I'm thinking 12.
With 7 home games to come, we might sneek in. The Toast that is.

Re: AFL 2008 thread
Did they do their best to give away a goal in the last minute before 3/4 time to make sure they wouldn't be starting the last quarter ahead?
To this stage the two WA clubs have played a total of 18 matches against opposition from outside WA and won 2 (count them!).

No ...But I think Port may have given away 3 goals at the end of the third quarter to put the Dockers up ...Freo just moved that little bit closer to South Africa
..and No Victorian teams in that 2

Re: AFL 2008 thread
It's a strange season ... Collingwood and Footscray probably looking best at the halfway point.
The top 7 is probably decided now, with only the 8th finals spot up for grabs, and only 2 of the 16 teams totally out of contention.

So Lardy which one out of the two WA sides and Melbourne isn't out of contention yet?

Re: AFL 2008 thread
I wouldn't write the Eagles off totally just yet. They did beat Adelaide 2 weeks ago and perhaps Collingwood are stronger this year than I initially realised ... they might have had the start in 2008 that Geelong had in 2007.

Lardy, last time you bought a car, which did you spend most time looking at - the badge on top of the bonnet, or the engine under it?
