"West Coast will be back ...but it's fun to kick them while they are down"

Even more fun when we now know their fans bleat after one bad season.

Oh - and whoever said Port were a pile of crap was right on the money. Carlton were no better than mediocre yesterday but mediocre beat whatever the hell Port were by 11 goals which should have been more.

Carlton fixed the same mob last year too. How the hell they got into a GF in between those two debacles, God only knows. Port 07 are fighting it out with Melbourne 88 for the 'worst grand finalist in living memory' booby prize.

The Swans are a miserly defensive side and may give the Cats some trouble.

Bah, the Cats look just as certain to win the Flag this year as they did last. Only a Buddy massacre can topple them. And if Buddy is true to form, he'll do a John Daly on the big day and kick 1-7.

I wasn't sure of last year until we led by about 80 points in the last quarter.

After being burned so many times, it's hard to be over-confident.

They've got great depth, and of course I am hopeful. After watching their great teams stumble in 1989 and throughout the early 90's, though, I take nothing for granted.

Meh, I fully expected the Cats to smash us Nath. If it's a certainty, I don't worry. It's the close contests that get me jangling.

Cats v Hawks looks a lock for the Flag play-off. Buddy to kick sideways for lots of behinds and OoBs!! Cool

The Dogs seem to be fading at the wrong end of the season, letting Brisbane in last night. Still 10 teams in contention for the final 8.

Brisbane and Richmond still have some mathematical chance of making the finals, but have to rely on Collingwood (*) and/or St Kilda stuffing up monumentally.

(*) It's a nice thought, but too good to be true.
