The rule should be - if it looks like a chuck, then it's a chuck. End of.

Yet again a bowler is reported for a suspect action after taking a few wickets against Australia. Murali in 1995, Shoaib in 2000, Jermaine Lawson in 2003, Johan Botha in 2009, and now Saeed Ajmal in 2009. It's long been known that the Aussies have no qualms about having a quiet word in an Umpire or Match Referee's ear about these sort of things. It's not just bowling actions. They urged the match referee to fine Simon Jones in 2005 after he gave Matthew Hayden a bit of a send off, and then there was the Harbhajan affair at Sydney in 2008. Considering the way they play their cricket on the field, running to the Umpires and Match Referee urging them to take action is hugely hypocritical.
If that's the way the Aussies want to play it, then screw the whole "what happens on the field stays on the field" nonsense that they like to blurt out when it suits them. It's a load of tripe that has been used to try and cover up their grubby behaviour for years. The next time Andrew Symonds sldedges a batsman, the batsman should let the on field umpire know about it. The next time Brad Haddin has a quiet chirp, the striker should go straight to square leg and mention exactly what was said. Perhaps they could even suggest how much he gets fined?
OR, the Aussies should concentrate on doing their job, and shut the f*ck up and let the Umpires and Match Referee do their job. It's their job to play cricket, not dob in anyone who they don't like or think plays the game unfairly.
Ajmal's illegal bowling action not a new thing: PCB
27 Apr 2009, 1816 hrs IST, PTI
KARACHI: Pakistani off-spinner Saeed Ajmal, who has been reported for a suspect bowling action by the match officials in the on-going ODI series against Australia, has already faced similar charges in the domestic cricket three year back.
Sources in the Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that umpires had reported Ajmal for having an illegal bowling action in April, 2006 while playing in the domestic circuit.
"The match officials had said that he needed to undergo a proper evaluation of his bowling action particularly while bowling the 'doosra' before he should be allowed to play again," one source said.
The source said after the report the bowler apparently did undergo remedial measures but as he was not an international player, the PCB didn't send him for a proper evaluation in the bio-mechanic labs in Australia.
"Ajmal was asked to appear before the bowling action review committee of the board for an evaluation of his action," the source added.
Meanwhile, Pakistan coach Intikhab Alam has criticised the ICC's bowling action review system and also expressed surprise that the umpires had reported Ajmal after the second ODI against Australia in Dubai although he had been playing for a while now.
The PCB sources, however, said the board had conveyed to Alam to be careful with his statements and not to interfere in ICC's working.
When contacted Saleem Altaf, the chief operating officer of the PCB, said that Ajmal would undergo a review of his action within 15 days of being reported.
"We are trying to arrange for a review of his action at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) where we have cameras installed at the indoor school. If necessary he can also be sent to Australia or England for a proper evaluation," Altaf said.
The PCB has set up a biomechanics laboratory at the NCA but interestingly it does not have the required manpower expertise to operate the systems, which are yet to be installed properly.

Ajmal fined for comments
The Pakistan Cricket Board have fined and warned off-spinner Saeed Ajmal for violating their code of conduct.
Ajmal was reported for a suspect bowling action by the umpires at the end of the second one-day international against Australia in Dubai.
The 33-year-old, in comments to the media, blamed Australia's Shane Watson for the incident, suggesting the all-rounder had tipped off the umpires.
The PCB's director of operations, Zakir Khan, said team manager Yawar Saeed had found Ajmal guilty of violating the PCB's code of conduct because he had not sought permission to speak to the press.
"The PCB's code of conduct demands that players first get permission to speak to the media and Ajmal had not done so," said Zakir, who refused to disclose the amount of the fine.
Pakistan captain Younus Khan, meanwhile, has backed Ajmal's bowling action.
"I'm quite certain his action will be cleared once the bio-mechanic tests are conducted," Younus said.
The PCB said they would approach Australian bio-mechanic expert Dr Bruce Elliot, who had worked with Shoaib Akhtar and Shabbir Ahmed, to conduct the tests.
Ajmal is free to play until the tests are conducted, but will be suspended if they reveal his action is illegal.

How did he speak to the media ?
Did he ring up a journo?
Did a journo ask him a question in a public area?
Was he allowed to speak to the media about something else and slipped in his" Watto is a dobber" theory?

Maybe it's because I'm a charmless Aussie qunt, but if someone was pinging them at me in a match, I'd quickly and loudly,so all (including the umpires) could hear, tell him to stop farkin pinging them . . . seems commonsense to me . . .

If you are sledged (Breach of CoC level) or you think someone is chucking you should tell the umpires...and let them handle it
