Re: New cricket quiz.
Perhaps but I think Gordon overestimates some peoples' cricketing knowledge. My quiz looks a doddle compared to this!
I don't know. Try your best to answer them yourself.

Lara Lara Laughs wrote:Question 10 isn't worded very well. I blame Gordon!
He means name the occasion where all 20 wickets in a Test match were taken by bowlers whose names began with C.
I think for questions like that, you're allowed to research otherwise no-one will ever get them right! Try and get as many questions as you can by working them out but if you really can't get the answers give yourself 5 minutes of google/cricinfo. Not too long though, otherwise everyone will get them all!
Thanks - I thought it meant that all 20 wickets were "caught".
Still don't know the answer though.

Hmmppph...If people don't like my quiz I won't hold it against any of you
I don't the questions here are harder than any in the "Difficult Trivia" thread however.
Whats the matter with researching online by the way? Some of these questions would be hard to research down - you either know them or you don't. And some might want to while away a bit of time working these out.
PS: Q.10 is badly worded now that I read it again...Sorry about that

Really, Gordy? Wow, never would have guessed that, despite all the references to it in this thread and the other one . . .

Re: New cricket quiz.
Nah, I dunno. Too anorakky for me. (Or it would help if you have seen all the answers before, as Gordon suggests. )
My initial answer to 1 was "LHB"! ...
... and then, if more was wanted, maybe something about 100 on debut, double centurions, came back after retired hurt, or something.
But b immediately put the garotte on that. And c is then an added thumbscrew.
I haven't got that many free hours to kill (my brain). So I give up.
Like JKL, however, I'm fairly sure of 2. A certain nagging trundler with corns (or so his run up appeared).
Nuff said.

1 a) Is surely easy enough. Most of us would have seen the relevant innings.
1 b) Is a research job but where is the problem with that?
1 c) A basic knowledge of famous Ashes innings would suffice.
2. Is not the obvious answer as anyone with a fair knowledge of the greatest ever Ashes series would know.
3. Was a point that came up over on C4 and (big clue this) is something most who read CricInfo will know before the end of the summer.
There I think that is enough help to be going on with.

Re: New cricket quiz.
Some of these questions come from a very hard quiz we did on C4 back at Christmas 2002.
We all plugged away at that one for a good couple of weeks despite the fact that no one actually had the answers.

Does 1b have 4 players and you want two ...or is their only two more players that complete the set?

Re: New cricket quiz.
LLL, will try to get to this today. Yesterday went to pot when one of the Zatellites spun their car off a road in the rain. Some things are more important than cricket.
The Zatellite concerned is OK, still awaiting verdict on whether car will be repaired or written off.
