Re: English county season 2008 (V)
Middling day. I'd probably have taken that at 27/3!

How long before the "Ramps for England" Sky-led bandwagon starts rolling again...?
The muddle team-selection is in of late, he could well get a tour place. As second spinner.

Openers are not having a good time this season are they? Apart from Moore at Worcs, can anyone think of one who's excelled? Even Horton has been in very poor form recently.

Key's having a shocker of a season. Out for 7 and 4 in this game. 500-odd runs at 32 this year.

Make that honours even - Kaneria has broken his spinning finger.

What's happened to their batting lately? Roobish.

I'd be suicidal if I were a Lancashire supporter. All that talent with damn all to show for it.

Rumours of much unrest in the camp since the revelation that Cork is to be released.

Can't say I'm surprised - the timing of that announcement just beggars belief.

If it weren't for your keeper pulling off some great stops from wides - you would have lost that

The one handed diving take down the legside in the last over was stunning, but then he spoils it by missing the stumps with an underarm throw from 4 yards. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the end.

Re: English county season 2008 (V)
With the way the current round of Championship games is progressing, it's conceivable that there could be just 30 points separating top from bottom in Division One by its completion, with Somerset leading the way on 146 points, and the Yorkies propping the table up with 116.
Amazing, and promises to be a hugely exciting run in towards the end of the season.
I've been banging on for some time now that there's every prospect of one or more clubs going into the final round of games both chasing the championship and looking nervously over their shoulders at the relegation places, and it looks increasingly likely that this will come to pass.

County cricket should be ashamed if Zummerset win the 1st division title. What a gash bowling attack they have...

The weather has meant it's been pretty much a bun fight over bonus points this season, they've only won 3 games.
Notts have been screwed over by the weather twice in much truncated games when they were within an hour and a couple of hours respectively of wrapping the games up, including most crucially against Zummerzet a couple of weeks ago.
I'm sure several sides have similar tales of woe during this miserable summer, however.
Whatcha gonna do?

It just shows you that a good batting line-up can be the way to win games.

Or not as the case may be.
They will have 3 wins from 12 games after their current game peters out to a draw.
