Re: English county season 2008 (V)
Glamorgan 286/9. Northants bowled an abundance of gash, bar Brown and Thunderfart apparently. Monty's looking worryingly poor. Reckon Shantry will murder us.
Re: English county season 2008 (V)
Ten Doeschate has the most ridiculous career stats i've ever seen. Granted he's spent that career bashing associate nations and shitehouse Div Two bowling attack around the village green at Chelmesford, but still...
ODI Batting Average = 50.93, Bowling Average = 20.37
20/20 International Batting Average = 42.00, Bowling Average = 11.16
First Class Batting Average = 50.85, Bowling Average = 35.16
List A Batting Average = 41.68, Bowling Average = 21.16

Re: English county season 2008 (V)
Infact, If you were to make a list of the Greatest Ever ODI Batting Averages it would go...
1) Michael Hussey, 54.92
2) Michael Bevan, 53.58
3) Ryan ten Doeschate, 50.93
4) Kevin Pietersen, 48.71
5) Mahendra Singh Dhoni, 48.00
6) Zaheer Abbas, 47.62
7) Viv Richards, 47.00
8. Glenn Turner, 47.00
9) Jacques Kallis, 45.06
10) Gordon Greenidge, 45.03
And the Greatest Ever ODI Bowling Averages...
1) Joel Garner, 18.84
2) Andy Gray, 18.97
3) Shane Bond, 19.32
4) Mike Hendrick, 19.45
5) Hiren Varaiya, 19.96
6) Len Pascoe, 20.11
7) Andy Roberts, 20.35
8. Ryan Ten Doeschate, 20.37
9) Colin Croft, 20.66
10) Dennis Lillee, 20.82
Usually they say you need to play 20 innings and bowl 1000 deliveries to qualify for these lists, well dustcart has played 18 innings and bowled 873 balls so he may well be appearing on both of them pretty soon. Statistically one of the Greatest ODI players ever.
Not a bad achievement considering that he's totally shit.

How dare you!
Tendo is a legend.
But true, he does pick up the award for the most contrived stats of any player around at the moment.
Think I worked it out - he's averaging more like 35 in FC cricket for Essex.

His isn't totally shit. He's nowhere near that good, obviously, but 'totally shit' is reserved for the likes of Richard Logan.

No. But the way he's gone since his return is the worrying part.

In List A's it's 36 with the bat and 26 with the ball.
And, to me, he always seems to be picking up the important sticks and getting some tough, backs to the wall runs.
There are MANY players deserving of being singled out for shiteness ahead of him.

Exactly but Gaz is a Yorkie. They're blind to a bit of class.

Re: English county season 2008 (V)
Pah,
If Richard Pyrah was from Bermuda he'd be averaging 37.77 in ODI's with the bat and 16.82 with the ball.
He'd also be living next to the beach, with a big swimming pool, surrounded by a bevy of bikini clad babes. Maybe he'd solve crime cases in his spare time, flying his helicopter so he can look all windswept and heroic, while his sidekick Dwayne Leverock constantly gets involved in all manner of comedic japes.

You say that like there's actually still supposed to be a discernible difference between the 4 seasons in this country nowadays.
