Klusener 149* Monty 16*
Even Direby are doing ok (even if most of those were scored by Chris Rogers)

I wonder if Monty can get a nice half century today.

Sussex 42-1 (26 overs) look like they're determined to bore Notts to death...

Looks like Sussex are denying Notts, whilst Kent are having a 'headingley 81' day against the Yorkies!

Klusener gets a double ton and Monty got 30*
Glamorgan must be really inept if they allow Monty that many!

On a side note, I met someone who claimed to be James Benning's sister last night. Im inclined to believe her mainly because he is not famous at all, so its unlikely she made it up.
I said she should tell him to leave Surrey. Ha ha ha.

Another hundred for Steven Davies in the one-day stuff.
He's really found his batting form at the tail end of the season. Must be vying with the similarly on song Jimmy Foster for the England back-up keeper's place for the winter, I would've thought.

Re: English county season 2008 (V)
Trouble is, Foster has also remembered how to bat ( 2 X 100 in his last two championship matches) - so he will be in the mix too, and rightly so.
Mind you, I reckon only one specialist keeper will be picked for the terst series in India - so it's all a bit academic.

Inept isn't even the word, Klusener just plays cricket for fun now and he's making double centuries at will.

Re: English county season 2008 (V)
Take a good hard look at Div 2. Pears are top with 6 wins out of 13 games. Then come the Bears with 3 (yes 3) wins out of 13. Worcs. extra three wins are only worth a 17 point advantage. Essex with one win more than Warks are 17 points behind The Bears. Too much emphasis on bonus points, and points for the draw methinks.

Aye - Warks won the title by getting draws a few years back. If you ever needed proof the points system was a bit farked, that was it!

Re: English county season 2008 (V)
I've given up. Our chance was to beat Glamorgan. Can't believe how we just felt short. Would've put us 8 clear in second with us having played a game more. Now we're 4 behind.
Re: English county season 2008 (V)
I dunno, fat lady and all that...
Especially in the latter part of the season. All one of the top 2 have to do is get dodgy weather and not win another game and there could be an opening.
Whether anybody else in Div 2 is actually good enough to take advantage is another matter....

I'm not counting any chickens:
Jonah - out for the season
Mason - out for the season
Kabir - awaiting result of scan on his back
Hick - old elbow injury has flared up
