Shoaib deems himself worthy of a 4 over spell against Hants.

Nhants/Essex washed out for the day. Doesn't really help either of us...

Leics / Gloucs gone for the day too.
Didn't we used to have a Leicestershire fan here and on C4? Carpet Monster or something was it?
No play at Taunton yet too. Good.
Hants 80/2 at the Oval. FIGJAM gets Carberry.

Doesn't look good for the whole week, Lever. Resigned to 3rd place or below. The one chance for us was that 38 in 5 overs shot. Ground to make up and no way of doing it. The pitch is still as soggy as. And it's raining.

Such are Essex's batting shortages we are playing Leicestershire reject Jon Maunders FFS.
According to the local paper the club is after Matthew Walker & Eoin Morgan
Can't see the 2nd one happening...

Well with the instability at Middlesex you never know. He would be a great signing, he is top quality.

If Middlesex don't appoint Gus Fraser as their head coach - they want their heads examining.

Gus is almost a certainty now, gathering from the membership feedback.
If that's the case, you won't see anyone leaving Middlesex for awhile, least of all Morgan, Joyce or Malan.
ET perhaps ... but that will be left entirely up to him.
Unless of course it all gets messy in a money sh1tfest, as happens in the footie world.

Yes, can't really see anybody leaving the scummers now with the T20 success...
Mid-season when they were all busy stabbing each other in the back was a different matter!

Do they regularly report on cricketing goings on at a County CC hundreds of miles away in your local rag in an isolated, northern corner of chilly Jockland then, JKL?

Re: English county season 2008 (VI)
There's been so much rain recently that Sky have even run out of Sky Sports Classic cricket matches to replace the abandoned Pro40 at Headingley tonight, and are instead showing random shoite of all shapes, sizes and descriptions.
The good news is that there is a one day only summer season closing down sale in the offing for tomorrow, and provided Trent Bridge hasn't completely submerged in today's deluge, we should get away with a game tomorrow . . . and I might even be able to get away with just a T-Shirt for most of the game.

Instability ??!! What instability? You wish .....
Anyway, to recap ... official MCCC announcement this morning (to quash all the rumours) -
Out-of-contract players whose contracts have now been renewed and confirmed till 2010 -
Owais Shah
Eoin Morgan
Dawid Malan
Murali Kartik
Tyron Henderson (subject to work permit extension)
Dan Housego
With Gus almost certainly the cricket supremo now, it looks like that "instability" hopefully might disappear next season.
Meanwhile, payday awaits in a few weeks time in Antigua.

So Ed Joyce hasn't signed on then? He has been strongly linked with the good guys.

Good guys ??
He will though - has inferred as much on the presumption that Gus Fraser is elected as Director of Cricket.
His first job will be to spit in Piles's eye and tell him to fark off and look elsewhere .....
PS - Straussey gets his benefit next year - 2009.

PMSL at Lever's feeble attempt at bear baiting!!
Careful mate, you might just find that your big hitter Napier brings his T20 talents to a successful T20 side.
( ... I never thought I'd ever speak glowingly of circus cricket FFS ... but I guess that's what success does!!! )
