He can't, surely?

Whoo whoo, Stumpy gone LBW followed by Adams next ball. Meanwhile Durham are piling the runs up against Kent, Rashid and Wainwright have put on a 100 for the 9th wicket, Wainwright's got his 50 and Dilo's just got his ton. When all said and done it's not been too bad a day.
Hope springs eternal.

Tahir's been terrible and he has somehow got three wickets. Read and Ealham look really, really bad with the bat at the moment and it's basically Wagh, Patel, Prince or nobody to get us a half-decent score.
Should be interesting now, anyway. It's a one-innings game essentially but for some late-order fireworks.

Tim nice but dim mis-judges a skier to end the innings and deny Notts a batting point. Not only that, the gormless get pushes the ball over the rope for four and gets up smiling as if it's no big deal.

211 a/o for Notts, lead of 8
Still favour Notts if Hants bat as meekly as they did in the first dig.

Re: English county season 2008 (VI)
If Hampshire bat the same way, they'll still be batting on Saturday to get a big enough lead. Nottinghamshire couldn't balance their recklessness with the desire to build a big innings. The pitch, let's be honest, is good enough for a decent class of batsman. Prince and Patel looked comfortable enough on it and they're the two best batsmen in the match.
From here though, I would expect we'll be chasing 180-220ish. The match may be decided on whether it's the lower or higher part of that range. Still fancy us, to be honest, but I'll not get ahead of myself.

Looked a different pitch when Samit was piling on the runs...
Got to say I wouldn't fancy being a Notts supporter with 50 runs needed and 4 wickets left and facing Tahir!

Put a bit of the Yorks commentary on and this guy is awful - breathing heavily into the microphone between balls and monching on some sweets occasionally. Lovely...

Make that about 900 runs @ 52 this season.
Got to be at least the 2nd keeper for the tests in India, shirley?
You under-sell the lad ... putting him behind the skinhead Prior in the pecking order.
I guess that's probably because Foster does play for the wrong '...sex' county!
Or because he went on the last Lions tour and had a top score of something like 2.

Mark Lawson's playing for Derbyshire. When did that happen?
You know your promising career has totally hit the skids when you wash up at Derbyshire...

Durham's title now, I think. Nottinghamshire Bottlers are doing a grand old job in wilting when under pressure, as usual.

Lawson sounds like Dawson. Maybe Derby thought they had signed Richard and got a nice surprise when the promising Yorkshire leggie Mark showed up.

Re: English county season 2008 (VI)
Lawson was released by Yorkshire a month ago. Today was his debut but he's only on trial. He hasn't bowled though. I've heard reports that he's broken his finger. I'll have to get down to see him if he's still here next year. Hopefully Yorkshire released him because he was never going to play ahead of Rashid rather than him just not being good enough.

Lawson if I recall tended to be more expensive than Rashid but gave it a bigger rip.
Had a promising season then had some personal issues I think?
Perhaps a Yorkie can shed light on the situation...

Yeah, I'd be happy with Lawson to be honest. Hima nd Needham as spin options. Get rid of Doshi. Now we just need a really good batsman and perhaps a strike bowler if Lungley has another nightmare season.
The Notts-Hants and Leic-Derby games are pretty similar aren't they?
