what happens to the fielders running and sliding on the field? will they ask each batsman where he plans to hit the shot and then redo that part of the field?

this match cannot be played on this ground. the sooner the wicb realises this the better their chances of salvaging a test, whether at ARG, stanford or barbados

Well Owais Shah has had his chance and failed to score any runs.

I can see no option for the selectors but to recall Ian Bell in time for the 3rd Test Match.

Admit it, this debacle is one the reasons we all love cricket - the most ineptly run and shambolically disorganised sport in the whole world.

Absolutely. 7/0 off 10 balls. Extrapolate those figures and we'd have been 378/0 at the close of play.

I wonder if Ian Bell will return. Owais Shah didn't exactly take positive action to address the problems faced by England today.

Well, the unluckiest man in cricket has got to navigate the choppy waters of Saturday without breaking a finger, pulling a hammy or having a piano fall on his head.

We all know he'll be out first ball anyway. He's been built up too much. It'll be Alan Wells all over again.

Shocked

Groundsmen dig beneath the surface of the Antigua pitch and find a sandpit, West Indies v England, 2nd Test, St. Johns, Antigua, February 13, 2009:

...........

Speaking of which there was supposed to be a near breaking down and/ or condemned stand at the ARG. Shah may want to watch out where he practices... Laughing

Does this count as a Test Match then?

The game in 98 did at Sabina Park. Shortest Test ever?

Strauss is pretty prolific at getting matches abandoned as captain, isn't he? 2 out of 6 now.

First there was him egging Darrell Hair on at the Oval and now he was rumoured to be seen last night with his bucket and spade doing a bit of gardening. What odds on him getting a third abandonment on Sunday when the Rec's main stand and all its rusty bolts suddenly go missing...?

Not to mention Pietersen setting up a terrorist attack in Mumbai in order to get the final two ODIs against India abandoned - and then insisting that the second Test be played at a venue so far North that there is only four minutes of daylight per week.

I think this might be a new England tactic: "We can't lose if we don't play."
