[quote="JKLever Nah, close though - like to go to the lake district every few years. Love walking in wilderness, though you're probably thinking of places like Ibiza right?
Think I'd like to take a week on the Norfolk Broads sometime too."
Nah, not Ibiza, couldn't think of anywhere worse. We like walking, so may try the Lake District - but I always imagine it constantly pouring with rain. I personally love the Channel Islands and have been to Robin Hoods Bay too. Some lovely photographs on this thread.
Btw, JKL, if going to the Norfolk Broads be careful of the Norwich fans.

Re: Favourite Holiday Destinations?
The gold coast is a great place to go, I had a great time there, and Brisbane is one of my favorite cities.
Inside the Caribbean, St Lucia would be my holiday destination of choice. It has everything you would need, with a nice mixture of typical Caribbean beaches and a rugged volcanic outline with the spectacular 'pitons' standing out.
For something completely different, the Western Province of the Solomon Islands is the most beautiful place I have ever been. It has the World's largest lagoon, which has for the most part remained untouched by developers. The standard of accommodation is not fabulous, but it is astonishingly beautiful and the scuba diving/snorkelling is beyond compare IMHO.

It depends on what the tide is doing. When it's out there are miles of sand.

But there's no character. It's all very nice but it's very much, "same old, same old." There's not even any flowers!

Re: Favourite Holiday Destinations?
I didn't see any flowers on those boring old beaches.
But if you want flowers . . .
