Re: Wimbledon
Murray will struggle to win Wimbledon if a guy like Wawrinka is taking him to 5 sets.

Wawarinka is not that bad a player. And then all the good players are in Federer's half. So Murray's path is relatively easier.

You'd probably get quite a good view of SW19 from up there..........

Re: Wimbledon
Can't figure why, once the roof is closed over, it has to stay that way for the duration of the day despite the onset of blue skies and 30C within half an hour of the shower passing!
Okay, if it had to come over DURING a match because of rain it's understandable that it has to stay that way for the remainder of that particular match ... but surely open it again at the start of an entirely new match ! It seems Murray was not too happy with the closed roof either!
But, it looks good ... indoor tennis at SW19, whatever next?
Chandan -
I wouldn't exactly rate JC Ferrero as an "easy" opponent ... no-one is easy once they reach the last 16.

Re: Wimbledon
I think it changes the entire nature of the game.
Someone, I think it was McEnroe said that your 1st serve % should go up 10 % with the roof closed.

Re: Wimbledon
Agree that it has to change the nature of the game.
A still atmosphere, the lack of natural humidity / heat (the stadium goes on to automatic climate control mode with the roof shut), no swirls of breeze/wind ... and yeah, the 1st service percentages were up for both players.
Still, the game did go on till 10:40pm and was shown non-stop on BBC1 thus displacing all the other scheduled crap programmes.

I hope Roddick or Murray wins. Wouldn't mind if Hewitt won. He's a bit of a knob but quite fun to watch.

Re: Wimbledon
Having seen them all in action yesterday, can't see either of the Russians getting past the Williams grunting powerhouses....
"ladies" tennis ... pah, boring as batshit.... to think they get the same prizemoney for dobbling around over 3 sets (if the spectators are really lucky) - generally just 2 ... invariably bullying the oppo into submission.
Compare the 'fare' dealt up yesterday to the marathon the night before ....

Re: Wimbledon
wonder who designed fedex's wimbledon dress .. kind of bizarre and makes him look like a bellboy in some posh european hotel. a soft green half-sweater and white jacket would work better than the waistcoat thing.
