And even if you did, I believe they have the internet in NZ.
I've been seriously contemplating it these past 2 years mate!
And it's got nothing to do with being a lamer - it's called self-protection of both 'self' and my family.
My daughter's just returned from 3 months Down Under - Kiwi included - and raves about the place.....
Also, I've got a couple of friends who did exactly that with their families some 3 years ago, as they weren't prepared to wait for "change" - and all are as happy as pigs in sh*t down there, and sadly, none of their families miss the 'motherland'!
The only alternative worth considering is a permanent move to Scotland, but only if they got independence and absolute Home Rule. I might call on Lever to propose me should that be deemed necessary!

Re: The UK General Election Thread
Brown digs his own grave by insulting a woman pensioner, Gillian Duffy, calling her "a bigoted woman" in a comment caught by a radio mic as he was driving off in his car. As Mrs Duffy is a lifelong Labour voter in a constituency currently held by the Lib Dems, Broon's comment illustrates the contempt NuLabour has for white working-class voters. If GB is still PM on 7 May I'm a banana.

Re: The UK General Election Thread
As might 20m other voters:
Brown called voter 'bigoted woman'
It shows the hypocrisy at the heart of NuLabour - Brown claims to have halted immigration yet anyone who raises immigration or disparages our membership of the EU is dismissed as 'a bigot'. Mrs Duffy is not some knuckle-dragging BNP skinhead in Barking but a grandmother who could have come straight out of Coronation Street who has voted Labour in every election since 1966. Thanks to Gordon, her postal vote has now been consigned to the dustbin.
Tony Blair, whom Mrs Duffy admired, would never have made such a gaffe, radio mic on or not. It shows how psychologically flawed Broon is plus the amateurishness of his minders. This is Labour's worst conducted campaign since Michael Foot's effort in 1983.
If Cameron has any sense tomorrow night he will hammer both Brown and Clegg on the issue of both immigration and the EU. Brown has never admitted before, to my knowledge, that there are 1m immigrants in this country from the EU (over whom the government has, of course, no control). He should press the point particularly that Brown privately thinks that most of his own supporters are 'bigots'.
During their exchange in the street, Mrs Duffy told the Prime Minister: 'You can't say anything about immigrants.'
She added: 'All these eastern Europeans - where are they coming from?'
Mr Brown said a million people had come from Europe but another million Britons had moved the other way.
Mrs Duffy also complained about people on benefits.
'There are too many who aren't vulnerable and they can claim, and people who are vulnerable can't get claims - can't get it,' she said.
Mr Brown said: 'But they shouldn't be doing that. There is no life on the dole for people any more.

Brown is now visiting the lady in question - either to apologise, or possibly fifnish the job "...and while I'm at it, your feet smell, you live in a poxy part of the country and your face looks like it's been set on fire and put out with a shovel". That should do the trick.

The Labour Party seems to be digging an even bigger hole by putting up Andy "Gissa your hat, Gower" Burnham to cover for Brown. I noticed there were lots of emails and texts read out on Sky with the identical phrase "he's only human" also used by Burnham. Wonder where they might originate from? Eastern Europe, no doubt.

I wonder if Murdoch leaves the microphones on and recording when Cameron thinks his interviews are over...
Good old Gordy - you couldn't invent him as a fictional character: a politician who appears unsuited to political life in every conceivable way, yet is too consumed with his lust for power to care about such minor details.

From the Beeb:
Quite. Brown's his own Achilles Heel, but there's no way in the world Sky would've stitched up their own candidate like this.
Paul From Oakley Vale writes: As an ex-BBC producer and former sound recordist myself I want to know when the reprimand will be applied to a) the sound recordist who carried on recording when a prime minister was clearly "off-camera" and in the private confines of his own car. And b) the reprimand to the opportunist news producer who exploited the sound recordists mistake for their own aggrandizement. Standards of decency and professional conduct have clearly been breached here.

Except it was the idea of Broon's handlers to wire him up with a radio mic so that the media could pick up conversations he was having with voters making it him appear more 'human'. They certainly achieved that.

plus the grey vote plus the Northern vote plus the swing vote in Lib Dem-Lab marginals. Not much left really. Oh well, maybe if Nick Clegg gets in he will extend the franchise to East Europeans. Gordy might stand a chance then.

Fully agree with the sentiments expressed by the ex-producer.
I can't help feeling that if it had been David Cameron instead of GB, the broadcast would never see the light of day in a hundred years ......

BBC rush to "Save Gordon" and blame it all on Sky News' "lack of decency". Surprise, surprise, as Cilla might say. What about Broon's lack of decency in slagging off a woman behind her back who had just said she was going to vote Labour?

Harris poll in The Metro reports:
CON 32%(-2), LAB 25%(-1), LDEM 30%(-1)
Once the Duffy factor and probably another pisspoor performance in the debate tomorrow night gets factored in the Labour vote will drop faster than a stone down a well. Labour is already on course for their worse performance in a General Election since the 22% they got in Lloyd George's 'Coupon' Election of 1918. You can't really blame Gordon. Just as in 1983 and 1992 Labour MPs failed to get rid of a leader who was clearly out of sync with the voters, despite numerous opportunities to do so, thus making electoral defeat inevitable.

Spare a thought for the local Labour Party candidate - he might as well book a holiday to commence on 7 May!
