It's all meant in jest, no offence to be taken by anyone.

The vision of Brown with his head in his hand when the audio is played to him is legend ... wait for it ... ary.

Re: The UK General Election Thread
As someone who works in the media I agree that playing Brown's "bigot" conversation was grossly unprofessional. If something like this happens live-to-air then so be it, but to dig it up afterwards is really poor form.
Having said that, anyone who thinks the producer in question wouldn't have done the same to Cameron is talking utter shite! John Prescott popped up in The Guardian today blaming it on a Murdoch conspiracy. It's quite simple John. Many journalists have standards so low they rival those of politicians. If it makes for a good story they are willing to jettison principles and ethics.
As for Brown, he should have shown some balls and defended himself. Seeing him grovel like that was extremely unseemly.

I don't have much sympathy for Brown.
He broke the first rule for any microphone. He alse broke the first rule for any politician - never insult the voter no matter how idiotic they may be.
But the producer in question also broke rules and that shits me because it continues to give journos a bad name!

Which understandably hasn't exactly gone down well with merls.
Whichever elder it was, you could have at least had the decency to go back and fix it up. But don't worry, I've cleaned up your mess, you douchebag.
Appreciate it Zat.
So easy to say "I told you so" - because all it takes is just one douchebag ... who has yet to admit to his graffitti I see !!
Anyway, moving on .... As expected, the front pages are splattered with the Bwown cock-up ... most of them referring NOT to the faux pas with Saint Gillian, but to the radio interview later (when the "bigot" tape was unexpectedly first played back to Bwownie) - slouched, shoulders slumped and head in hands .... it was NOT a pretty sight ... as realization dawned on him that the f**k up was huge ....... A lifelong Labour supporter being called a bigot .... whatever next, eh?!
Actually now is not the time to win a General Election ... what with Greece's economy being declared toxic and Spain and Portugal expected to follow imminently, the EU's prospects are looking dour with Germany bailing everyone out (ironic 70 years later!) and the sh!t hitting the fan in the next two months is going to stretch even the UK's meagre resources.
"Welcome to Hell" will be the banner awaiting the next tennant in No 10 ... and if I were Cameroon, I'd let Cleggie have a go for a year or so and then return triumphantly with a landslide victory !!

Who you talkin' bout, Willis?
Gussy, RobI, Vikas, Bucky, or some other sooky flouncer?
Or is it the Supergrass you have in your sights? Hmm.

All of the above, plus myself, plus shoey, plus furry, plus a few other forummers.skully wrote:Who you talkin' bout, Willis?

All it takes is someone to be drunk, to have a bad day, or to be losing an argument with someone to edit a post. The argument of "give it a chance, nothing has happened yet, no one wants to see this place go downhill so it won't happen again" has been EMPHATICALLY proven wrong.
I actually didn't want to be right about this, I would have preferred to be wrong, but really, was there ever going to be another outcome to giving so many people the chance to edit posts without anyone knowing who has done what?
I wouldn't be surprised if someone comes along and says "Oops sorry, hit the wrong button, no harm done", but even if that does happens it still proves the point that people can't trust that what they write won't be edited, either due to some retard who can't press the right button or to some asshole being an asshole.

Stop being defensive Skulls.
Sh!t (as was anticipated) happened .. and was ultimately to be expected of one, if not a few, of the non-coms who got "promoted" to the Dello "a new-dawn" brigade!
It's no biggie .....

Meh, just making conversation, Merls. I've made it clear the whole elders things worries me not in the slightest. If Dello took the hollow status away tomorrow I assure you there will be no wrist-slitting.Merlin wrote:Stop being defensive Skulls.

However if Dello wants to walk away, that's a different matter.
