Re: Pakistan players demand hockey World Cup boycott
And it is a huge hypocrisy when Pak players allege that we insulted them and when they say that politics and sport don't mix. The insulted the our whole country when they refused to play a game at Ahmedabad in 2005 and threatened a pull out if the game was not accomodated elsewhere making a huge political statement meant at provoking Hindu-Muslim animosity. When they agree for a tour, it is not for them to blackmail where a game is played unless it involves security problems. Hypocrites. National insult indeed.

Currently , Are there any problems with Pakistan? No?
are you serious? india and pakistan have not had formal talks since 26/11/08. all peace talks are off till india sees some change in pakistan's position vis-a-vis terrorist camps
Can a Pak cricketer get a Visa to play in/ visit India ?
according to the Indian government offical it was simply a case of no "slot" for the PAK players.
The whole visa thing was cleared and the players had already recieved positive emails from IPL, now they fumbling around with contrasting excuses.

Not just IPL. We also don't want any more Pak fans entering the country disguised as cricket fans on false visas and documents and vanishing in the crowd to push anti-India activities, fake Indian currency and trying to set up terrorist sleeper cells. And I will be brutally honest about this. There should be no India-Pak sporting or cultural exchanges till the army/govt establishment cleans up the anti-India jihadi mechanism they set up.
Vikas, you're very much on the road to demonisation there. We've seen it all over, 25 years ago all Irish people in Britain were regarded as probable IRA members. It doesn't end well that kind of attitude, it's very 1984 (the book!). The governments on both sides are encouraging that kind of approach and it just won't do any good at all.

I don't think any one really cares about what happens IN IPL how ever the issue here is the behavior of the organization. PAK players weren't invited for the champs league last year.. at that time it was a simple no by the likes of Modi & co but this time around the discrimination was taken to another level.
Champs league was a disaster and i won't be surprised if IPL is an equally big disaster

Vikas,
Why don't you tell your government to clean its own house? why don't you RAW from the terrorist activites in parts of Pakistan? why wasn't anything done against terrorist like N Modi and the likes of Babu bajrangee who were responsible of countless deaths in Gujrat and when there is significant evidence to convict these criminals.

this is what I keep wondering. The Indian govt and media whines as if there is no tomorrow.
Considers Pakistan as the den of all evil and accusses Pakistan of being complicit in the deaths of many innocent Indians.
and accuses Pakistan govt in not so many words of directly being involved in sponsoring non-state actors.
Yet they do not fight a war and finish this off. Cowards !

I’m a little surprised the incredulity some are expressing, I’m not sure that rationalising it the way it has been (‘Not a viable business option’, 'no slots' etc. blah blah) supports much of a case. It could display some of you as one-eyed, nationalistic tossers.

You expect it from forummers who judge how big their knob is by how well their nation is doing but not from government ministers having a sook.

Well, I certainly realise that. But I was just saying that had the situations been reversed - i.e. Indians being 'banned' from the hypothetical PPL - I'm not sure there would've been such pragmatism shown on this thread. Just smacks of nationalism. Defending any action for the simple reason you're from there. It's never going to be 'just because' as a justification. Doesn't mean those reasons have to be, by design, so tenuous that they're see-through.
I've come to expect intense nationalism from some of the Indian forummers, those of whom I speak of are the most lop-sided of people with anything involving their country. I just 'love' how whichever justification they choose, it seems 'enough' as an explanation. Maybe I need to be a national of a country populated by over 1 billion people and see if the 'yeah, so what? I couldn't give much of a f*ck. F*ck the lot of you... GO <INSERT BIG COUNTRY HERE>' attitude just grows on a person.

To be fair, that was a pretty common attitude amongst our nationality 130 years ago. I guess the point is that when we read that kind of stuff from history, we cringe.

Yeah, maybe I'd have been well in it at that time. Luckily, we've moved on, so I haven't got their perspective. It's all 'whatever' really, I'd see it as a slight on my nation had they been cosmetically barred from this competition but when it boiled down to it, I wouldn't give much of a f*ck as it's just a bunch of international twats mixed in with mainly shit Indian players then > <---- Probably the nearest to the most apathetic 'meh' you'll find as an emoticon.

blah blah blah blah blah .. .. bwaa waa waa waa waa
hopefully us Indians do not reach the state of inertia and being sorry of nationalism as you lot have become.
But fact of the matter is, if you hand your country to a group of elites while enjoying the good life yourself and not stirring in the least bit until the shit hits the fan, then you could well feel sorry for yourself.
atleast India has significant parts of it that are much more innocent and unmolested and that is where we enjoy it until it lasts.
so bugger off, jealous qunt. It aint' about the money, it ain't about the population, and it certainly ain't natioanlism.
Well at least not the regressive kind you speak of. And atleast not in my case.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA.
This is so rich. So one starts threads whinging about some players exclusion from IPL 3 and then asks us to 'set' our house in order. Excuse me, but last I checked the Lankan team was attacked in Pak after being given 'Presidential' protection. The NZ team had their hotel bombed and the very extremists who are bombing all over Pak now were once trained by the federal Govt and army themselves. The sunnis bomb shias daily and like your farking hypocritical players who refused to play in IPL for money, but won't play in Ahmedabad to play politics creating problems for the hosts, and then you have the gall to just hold on to a couple of riots that happen once in a couple of decades? You guys want to have the cake and eat it too. Want to play in India, won't play in Ahmedbad, scream murder if you don't have things your way. is there no end to your hypocrisy in sight? Even USA has seen race riots at some point but that doesn't stop Pak's love for the place does it? never seen you hypocritical team refuse to play in Colombo to show solidarity to tamil victims. The whole world is in danger from an explosive Pak and not India.

He is. You aren't. He did not start shallow threads to politicize IPL 3 through an Indo-Pak prism. You did. So you aren't really much better than the 'rest' here.....
