BWAHAHAHAHAHA.
This is so rich. So one starts threads whinging about some players exclusion from IPL 3 and then asks us to 'set' our house in order. Excuse me, but last I checked the Lankan team was attacked in Pak after being given 'Presidential' protection. The NZ team had their hotel bombed and the very extremists who are bombing all over Pak now were once trained by the federal Govt and army themselves. The sunnis bomb shias daily and like your farking hypocritical players who refused to play in IPL for money, but won't play in Ahmedabad to play politics creating problems for the hosts, and then you have the gall to just hold on to a couple of riots that happen once in a couple of decades? You guys want to have the cake and eat it too. Want to play in India, won't play in Ahmedbad, scream murder if you don't have things your way. is there no end to your hypocrisy in sight? Even USA has seen race riots at some point but that doesn't stop Pak's love for the place does it? never seen you hypocritical team refuse to play in Colombo to show solidarity to tamil victims. The whole world is in danger from an explosive Pak and not India.
err..Muslims were slaughtered by the Gujrat government and the likes of babu bajrangee and N Modi were never punished when in babu's case he openly admitted that he and Modi were behind the killings. Now why should the Pakistani cricketers(almost all of them being muslims) play in a state where the leader has killed countless muslims just because they were muslims.

Well, I certainly realise that. But I was just saying that had the situations been reversed - i.e. Indians being 'banned' from the hypothetical PPL - I'm not sure there would've been such pragmatism shown on this thread. Just smacks of nationalism. Defending any action for the simple reason you're from there. It's never going to be 'just because' as a justification. Doesn't mean those reasons have to be, by design, so tenuous that they're see-through.
I've come to expect intense nationalism from some of the Indian forummers, those of whom I speak of are the most lop-sided of people with anything involving their country. I just 'love' how whichever justification they choose, it seems 'enough' as an explanation. Maybe I need to be a national of a country populated by over 1 billion people and see if the 'yeah, so what? I couldn't give much of a f*ck. F*ck the lot of you... GO' attitude just grows on a person.
spot on how ever there are exceptions like Furry.
He is. You aren't. He did not start shallow threads to politicize IPL 3 through an Indo-Pak prism. You did. So you aren't really much better than the 'rest' here.....
so there was no politics involved in auction? ...more you fumble around with excuses the more silly you will look.

Yo, cut out the preaching, and enjoy the argument. As they say in Hindi on your role:

Building on what shoeshine said. A hundred years (or even less) ago, your lot was the arch representatives of super nationalism for at least a few hundred years. They, including Churchill, was sneering at Indians, calling us a mish mash of nationalities, no common identify etc, in fact no nationalism.
Now what you're saying is the reverse of what they said, i.e. criticizing Indians because you think us too nationalist and because you have moved on?
Funny how the target moves over time.

There it comes. You don't mind being a politics playing bastard playing the hate card when it suits you but wish others behave less jingoistically? What a hypocrite you are. Your players have no business refusing to play in Ahmedabad and if they do they should stop playing in India. But they should first stop playing in Pakistan first where the greatest Hindu slaughters happened after partition. We should refuse to tour Pakistan for this simple reason alone. More muslims have died in Pakistan than in India due to religious bigots running loose in the country sponsored by your Govt. and army so boycott Pakistan first you qunt! And while you are at it, 2 million of your 'muslim brothers' were slaughtered in Bangladesh by your own Govt and army under Yahya Khan and I have yet to see you arseholes refusing to play there to show 'solidarity' to those killed by your own quntry. Dude also stop seeking a life in UK/USA on account of their 'anti-muslim' activities in Afghan, Pak and Iraq or is your hypocritic 'solidarity and sympathy' limited to just India only? With this one single post you exposed the true level of quntness that exists in you. You are really crazy. You want to play IPL in India, make money from BCCI and yet you also want to play politics in playing the game in Gujarat and then want us to not mix politics and sports? Just fark off you deluded moron.......
Why should we invite your team or players to play if their concern of visit is to play dirty politics over Gujarat, make money and give us a diplomatic slap for it at the same time? Next year Ahmedabad joins the list of IPL teams so will your players refuse to participate in it? Will they refuse to play matches against Ahmedabad or refuse to be signed up by them? Whatever has happened has happened for the best I feel now. You are a bigot who seeks excuses to justify only Muslim deaths in India and then ask SG to publicly apologize for an accusation while you hold such dangerous myopic views of mixing sport with politics yourself. You are quite a piece of work.....
If your players reserve the right to not play in Gujarat for political reasons, we too have the same right to not play them in IPL or any farking tournament in India. Go figure that out.....

Bang on. Thats the problem. They want to play dirty politics on Gujarat and abuse and embarrase the host country in the process when they choose to and then they want to chase easy money, and are willing to even beg or diplomatically blackmail Govts. for a chance to make quick money in IPL. Then Gujarat suddenly becomes a non-issue. is there no end to this hypocrisy? Are these guys for real?

I don't think Churchill would have called me one of his lot tbh...
Nor do I think it has much relevance to the argument I and Monkeh were putting forward.

The "India" Churchill would have been referring to would include present day Pakistan and Bangladesh. Just thought I'd mention it.

^^ Re Churchill, not the you of today, but how about the you of 80-100 years ago?
Things change; many, not all, things are best seen in context. This is one of them IMO.
'You lot' = Brits. What did you have in mind?

Context is everything, Furry. Too many people look at the past through 21st century eyes and are quick to condemn.

But that "mish-mash of nationalities" was in fact true - in that it is hard to imagine those three countries being united. It may be that appalling as partition was, it was in fact the least bad option at the time.
