The irony of it all is that fox hunting embraces not just the landed gentry but the entire community associated with it.

Like I said, I don't (but used to) ride with the hounds, but yes, I do shoot fox predominantly around August. 10 acre fields will yield as much as 20 brushes ... but shooting the buggers with 5 guns doesn't exactly make up for all the redundant humans hanging around, all necessary and essential to make up the hunt itself.

Wouldn't it be quicker just to shoot the humans and parade their arses aloft?

Just a thought.

Hmmmm .. Maggie was 20 years ago Ange ... we've moved on since - as Our Tone always banged on about !
But I know what you mean ... I've heard Fiji or one of the many Pacific islands is the ideal place to step out of the rat race - only problem being that you'd be perilously close to a large island down in those parts ... you know the one that has people speaking with a nasally twang and whose dream is to one day, in the distant future, win back a small urn .....
Very Happy

Somewhere on the original thread I stated that a Tory Minority Government supported by the Lib Dems would be the least worst possible outcome of the election.

Don't want to say I told you so, but fark it - I'll say it anyway - I told you so! Labour have been consigned to opposition where they will no doubt eat themselves, leaving the Tory/Lib Dems to try to sort out the unholy mess that is the UK economy.

My apple trees are in blossom and I've seen seen a blue tit, a blackbird, a couple of wood pigeons, several starlings and my resident robin already this morning. Like I said life goes on. I might go on a bit sometimes but at least I care.

What's your Tory name?

Take the first name of your grandparent, the name of the road you were brought up in and your headmaster's name.

Mary Amberley Johnson.

Lavly!

Our Magnolia tree is blossoming and there are blue tits, wood pigeons and even a wood pecker around. I like late spring, even when it should technically be early summer.
