They had a very good card at York including the Group 2 York Stakes. I hope you found the winner of that one - Summit Surge at 8/1. I reckon you would have backed the winner of Race 6, Wicked Daze at 12/1.

Very Happy

My Daze looked rather askanced when I told her about that horse.

Surely you know that Churchill Downs are currently in recess? They last raced on July the fourth.

......... and a big Music Festival was held there over the weekend. You obviously knew that because Bon Jovi were playing.

He's gotta be a chance.

I guess the forummers from Sydney will back Gaily Noble
Horrie will back Roman Republic
Taipan will back Jo'burg
Doremi will back Indian Days
JKLever will back Tartan Gunna & Tartan Gigha

Glorious Goodwood should be a top carnival. I've been looking forward to it for a while. Tonight, I'm particularly interested in the Gordon Stakes. Last year it was won by my favourite pommie horse, Harbinger.

Brilliant horse Harbinger...let's hope they keep him in racing as a 4 yo rather than shunt him off to get his rocks off at stud.

Aussie Day ought to p!ss the first though December Draw is my e/w outsider after being baulked when picking up in Ascot's Royal Hunt Cup last month.
Gosden's horses are running well, so Arctic Cosmos for me in the 2.45
Tough old Benandonner in the 20 runner 4.35 and Woddfall Treasure in the marathon 'lucky last'.

That was an enjoyable evening's entertainment helped by the treble & a trifecta.

Horse to follow in the future was Arctic Cosmos who came home very strongly in the Gordon Stakes.

'Arctic Cosmos' - Bad ride from young Buick ... too late coming off the wall of horses ahead of him, especially pulling carts as the nag was ...

The short priced favourite Age Of Aquarius broke down during the running of the Cup which was won by Illustrious Blue.

Top class sprinter Borderlescott added another Group win to his tally by taking out the King George Stakes.

I done Illustrious Blue.
One reason only - he's trained down the road on the Sussex Downs, he loves Goodwood and he's won there on 6 previous occasions. Tasty 8/1 ....

Had Borderlescott as well - great servant to his connections and tribute to his trainer ... 8 years old and still pinging it!

I did alright in those two races as well getting the Daily Double which paid $67.90 on UNITAB. Unfortunately I had already spent a bit more than I should trying to get the treble but couldn't find Beachfire in the first leg.

Age Of Aquarius was found to have ligament damage & may have run his last race. Tactic was also found to be lame after the Goodwood Cup & a similar story with Borderlescott in the sprint.

Today sees the running of the Group One Nassau Stakes for fillies & mares & the Stewards Cup, a Heritage Handicap for the sprinters. The Goodwood Stewards Cup has had a bit of an impact here in Queensland. The 1952 winner was Smokey Eyes who was one of the most successful stallions to stand in this state. He sired many stakeswinners including Charlton Boy, Eye Liner, Bright Shadow & Eye Shadow. He also sired New Statesman while domiciled in Victoria before he came north. The 1963 Stewards Cup was won by Creole who also stood in Queensland siring the likes of Christole, Flying Creole & Rathdowney. The 1959 Stewards Cup was won by Tudor Monarch who also stood here alongside Smokey Eyes.

Unfortunately UNITAB won't be betting on the Stewards Cup as there are more than 24 starters.
