First one is almost 1 - still 6 months from breaking in but apparently it runs around the paddock at freakish speeds.
Second one is due in a couple of months

I have yet to hear of a foal that didn't run around the paddock at freakish speed - it's part of the "conditioning" the racing game puts you through toi bleed you dry over the next five years before they finally admit that the best use for the beast would be helping children in the education system as the clag that keeps the collage together.

Then of course there is the conspiracy between the trainers and the vets. That's when they first wipe out your life savings - and then force you into a reverse mortgage as you chase that maiden at esk!

I got the joke. It's a standard sort of response.

Anyway - that freakish speed tends to co-incide with the third shot of 'roids.

One of the twitters commenting on MB's above article caught my eye ...

My dad always said that horse was good ...
I like Deer, Kangaroo, Cow, Snake, Sheep, Goat and Camel, I might like Horse too (never know until you have a go). They're all decent shags.

Re: The Horse Racing Thread
The King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes coming up in a few hours time. Should be a great race. I'd like to see Harbinger win a Group 1 but his regular jockey Ryan Moore has elected to ride Epsom Derby winner Workforce instead so he must feel the three year old has the better chance. Irish Derby winner Cape Blanco will also be hard to beat.

The racecaller said that a goat would probably beat Feed The Goat after he came in tailed off in last place.

Re: The Horse Racing Thread
Harbinger wins like a superstar by panels by fencing from Cape Blanco & Youmzain. Workforce was very ordinary finishing fifth.
The good news was that WW backed Harbinger & also jagged the trifecta.
If you didn't watch the race, make sure you see a replay because this was one of the most impressive performances you could ever hope to see in such an important race. It was obvious he was going to win soon after straightening with his jockey sitting still while his opposition were all under heavy pressure.

Well done WW ... Harbinger verrrry impressive (off to stud now) ...I went for Cape Blanco ...
Derby form (as usual) working out badly ... Workforce looked f**ked 2 out.

They had a very good card at York including the Group 2 York Stakes. I hope you found the winner of that one - Summit Surge at 8/1. I reckon you would have backed the winner of Race 6, Wicked Daze at 12/1.
