Fark it, Fuse tries the hero sweep shot, top edges it and is on his way. 4-63. Herath looking for all 10.

I reckon we need a ton from Pup or Paris (bit much to hope for after the series he's had) or we are screwed.

Dickinfo commentary indicates Pup is living very dangerously. Sounds like he could have been run out, stumped and bowled more than once. 1-29 in the hour. Ugh, this is gonna be hard work.
Effectively 4-81.

Need at least a 200 buffer which would still give SL enough time if they are good enough.

A brace of (4+6)s by Pup in a couple of overs off Herath gets the score moving. 50 partnership in good time and 50 to Pup. 4-123.

WTF is everyone?
Excellent 2nd hour. 0-65 with Pup really putting the foot down. 4-303 at lunch, 146 in front.

Pup scored 62 runs in a 25 over session on day 5. Pretty good going.

Aye. Seems he had a very shaky start, but once Paris came to the wicket he seemed to get his mojo back.

Now THAT's how you get off 87...
97.5 Herath to Clarke, SIX!!, The biggest six of the match! Tossed up generously, Clarke jumps out of the crease, gets to the pitch of the ball and dismisses it way into the stands over long on for a massive hit

As unlikely as a win is, what would Clarke's declaration target be? 250?

Huzzah for Pup!!. That's a great ton!!!
And how grouse is Paris?? Comes to the wicket with us shaky at just 63 in front and helps steer us to 170 in front. 400 for the series. 1st in a 3 Test series since Fuse v Yarps.

Leave them 40 odd overs to score 250 I reckon.

Can't help but think that Fuse threw away a double ton here. This wicket just seems to be getting better.

This torpid pitch has really brought the flat track bullies out!!
Lankans wouldn't chase a total anyway; they've been hellbent on avoiding a 2-0 defeat save for Dilshan's innings.

Aye, one would hate to be a bowler at SSC. It's a highway.

Spanky's article was based around the fact that it's difficult to assess an innings so much is the advantage for batsmen over bowlers during this match. Clarke rarely fails to capitalise when things are easy though. Will be interesting to see if he can make runs at #5 (having been found wanting up the order) when things are super difficult. It's hardly been his strong suit.

Is Pup going to become the new red ink warrior?

His average had fallen below 46 so did rather need a boost.

0-82 in the hour after lunch as you are trying to make the game safe is pretty tidy.
