Re: The Golf Thread (II)
Sky's coverage of the big tournaments is piss poor. Last year's Ryder cup was especially bad. Thankfully, these non prime season events are very nice and we've the European Tour's commentary.
The PGA tour coverage is cringeworthy, and Golf Channel's regular programming even more so.

Darren Clarke announced as Ryder Cup captain then. Again, no surprise.

My form continues. Will do well to get close now.tricycle wrote:Loved it. Bodes well that he can handle the pressure (putt on the 17th especially) and that should now put him as firm favourite for another win at the Indian open.
Jason Palmer chips with one hand. Surely that's just practice showboating gone to the tournament. Apparently, adopted it due to troubles with chipping earlier.

He must be good to overcome that curse. Although I hear SSP is blaming you for the wind.

Phew. Must've got over it only after writing him off.
Haven't watched any of the tournament over in Seppoland, but Goosen leading? BLoody hell. Did see Ryan Palmer's near hole in one on the driveable par 4 10th in which he ended up getting a par. WTF!

McIlroy 73. Good times.
I know it's possibly going to kill him off this season, but Casey's on a bit of good form recently. Meanwhile, Paratore got a nice 66 on the easy course in Johannesburg.

****** off and show some bloody golf instead of your third rate hillbilly billionaire impersonator. Piss weak coverage, and that with only 50 players in all.
McIlroy's antics yesterday were a bit pathetic too. He should try being a really shit golfer. Would have to buy a new set every round.

Rory must be taking on Tiger's role seriously. If he was darker Trev would have been all over him.
I still cannot work out how JB Holmes hit four balls into the water in his round and still managed to shoot a 73.

Yep, and will get a proper pay raise on current form. Would destroy Tiger Slam Woods' year the way things are going.skully wrote:Hehe. Flaming Bail - Master Woofers Incorporated. Shirley there's a thriving corporate enterprise in the making. JtB would sign us up.

Ryder cup 2014, Best sports programme of the year.... They're having a laugh
Yep, they took us right to the heart of the event.... Just forgot to telecast the best singles match of the tournament. Had many cuts that stop started coverage more than Tora Takagi. Award winning, my arse.
Monty is a dog shit analyst and Torrance and Donnelly shit all over sky from a great height. That is not even considering Townsend, Hutchinson, Johnstone and Ken Brown.
Might as well award Michael Slater with a journalistic excellence award.
The RTS judges said: “Sky Sports' 2014 Ryder Cup had it all: an approach that took the audience to the heart of the event, a commentary team of unrivalled expertise and a production that was perfectly placed to showcase the great sporting drama."

Bloody hell, did the course in San Antonio become easier in the second half? Only one player was under par in the morning, Kuchar, and he was one under.
