Bird had a disappointing A tour in the Winter, didn't he? Probably set him back a bit. He looks to me more of a 'if the conditions suit' kind of bowler.

In that case, they've suited him all last year and nearly all this year.

More than the same conditions have suited Hazlewood, Johnson, or Hastings.

Yeah, the Shield pitches have had plenty in them for the quicks in recent years. How would he fare on a flat as hell Aussie test pitch, though?
