Re: Eng v India, 7th ODI, Lord's, 8th September
Mikey said it. You go by your eyes, not ears.
The Dravid dismissal was a bit iffy but quite possibly correct. As for the SRT dismissal, the ball does pass a good couple of inches away from the bat as seen from one or two angles (I'm watching a CBN channel link with Mike, Nasser, Gower, Botham, etc. commentating) and there's clearly a big bat-on-pad deflection of the bat. Plus the ball went perfectly straight through - without any deviation whatsoever from its original line.

So, this sooking, if India go on to win they have triumphed in the face of near insurmountable adversity and are truly masters of the game. If they lose, well, how can you win when the umpire is incompetent and "saws off"all your decent bats?
It was the umps what defeated us.

Good movie? I want to see it, looks a bit over the level of scaryness that I can take.

Lets give all the sooking about decisions a rest FFS, they looked reasonable decisions to me.
Prior was given out by Dar lbw to one clearly going over the top in the last game. For some though it seems as if because they are great players unless there is the absence of all 3 stumps they shouldn't be out.
And to go because you're 4 down is clearly ridiculous. Didn't India bowl out England for 205 defending something like 212 on their last tour here?

Luke Wright on.
Disturbia - OK, gives a few jolts. Nothing you haven't seen before already.

what a waste of a final. thats it for me, lights out
Neither were ridiculous. Dravid was out, good decision.
SRT's decision was a difficult one, no way a shocker.
obviously you're seeing some other match. there were a few inches between the ball and srt's bat. no evidence of dravid's bat hitting the ball either. considering the benefit of doubt usually goes to the batsman they were both very wrong decisions
anyways enjoy. i'm outta here
Jeez, no evidence????? Snicko showed the typical ball on bat profile as the ball passes the BAT and hotspot supported it as bat.
What do you count as evidence? The quality of the batsman?
Snicko, as you well know, is not conclusive proof because there's the possibility of some other sound occurring at the same time and masking the edge (or lack of one). The Hotspot image was so faint that it could well have been air rushing through between bat and ball and generating a little bit of heat.
NOT contesting the decision. Sachin's dismissal was pure boll***s, on the other hand, JKL. I'm pi$$ed because I'm trying to stay up and watch the match here, and Sachin go I go.

So Uthappa gets a fine edge to the keeper and the appeal is declined. Where is the sooking about the standard of umpiring now?

Missed the Uthappa edge because I was busy ranting on the other decisions here.

Dimi gets Uthappa!!!!!
106-5
Thank fark it was caught at mid-off so no umpiring issues. Or maybe it didn't quite carry, or maybe you shouldn't be dismissed if you only catch it with one hand after going for it with 2.

Errr I think I agree!
But basically, unless the decision is an ABSOLUTE howler (and there have been a few this tour), you just have to accept it, that is the game.

Was always going to happen. We're too much dependent on our opening partnership. Our middle order hasn't contributed much in this series apart from Dravid and Yuvraj on few occasions.
And then some people say get rid of Tendulkar and Ganguly.
