Shame it had to come to pass. Getting done at long leg, two balls after a drinks break, whilst trying to save a match requires such nicknames.Dello wrote:"Headless F*ckface"
New favourite nickname.

Re: Trott quits the tour!
To our English comrades, what's Luke Sutton's claim to fame? He's gone right off on Twitter, slagging Warner off. I guess I understand his angst, but shirley he should give the ranga farkwit the benefit of the doubt that he DID NOT know Trott had actual REAL depressive mental struggles when he mouthed off about him being weak.
As I said earlier, if the dope has any sense he'd immediately make a statement apologising and explaining he didn't know of Trott's condition.

He was a journeyman wicketkeeper for a few counties. Think he ended up at Lancs for a while. Don't know anything about the bloke. He's an irrelevance in the wider cricketing picture.skully wrote:To our English comrades, what's Luke Sutton's claim to fame? He's gone right off on Twitter, slagging Warner off. Why in the blue blazes does anybody in any circumstances give a flying rat's tossbag in Hell what anybody ever puts on Twatter?

First, Warner is not to be blamed. How the phcuk would he know? He's an ugly little brute, but my sympathies are with him.
Second, I hope Trott recovers quickly. Come back firing, man.

Your sympathies are with him? It was 'apparently' wrong to say such things in the first place, so your sympathies must only be for the f*ckwittery of the man
Re: Trott quits the tour!
Must admit it is somewhat surprising that Clarke whose spontaneous comments were only punished because the mike was turned on cops a penalty whereas Warner who obviously pre-planned his avoids any admonishment despite demeaning an opposition player in a gratuitous fashion.

He did talk about his own depression issues contributing to the end of his career apparently, so obviously is someone talking from experience even though he wasn't an international player.skully wrote:Cheers D. Not surprising at all.Red wrote:Must admit it is somewhat surprising that Clarke whose spontaneous comments were only punished because the mike was turned on cops a penalty whereas Warner who obviously pre-planned his avoids any admonishment despite demeaning an opposition player in a gratuitous fashion.
It's called double standards.
perhaps CA have their hands in the ICC's pockets playing billiards.
You never know.
PS - I blame the Boof for all this meltdown.
Not that he'll gi'e a f**k.

Re: Trott quits the tour!
So, how long is "long-standing"?
Did the condition come from his descent from solid rock to walking wicket in Test cricket, or is it the other way round?
I wish him all the best for a swift recovery. On the other hand, as someone noted above, if the England set-up knew he was carrying this, on a "long-standing" basis, and he was clearly visibly struggling to get out of the straitjacket in July-September, then why was he selected for Oz? It's hardly a seaside rest cure.
It's all very well to say "Because there was nobody better, with more experience of solid batting when required". But if he was in an unrelieved brittle state already, it didn't do him - or England - any favours to pull him up on to the back of the truck.

I wish Trott a speedy recovery. And Warner has provided further evidence that he's the dumbest, grubbiest little c*nt in world cricket.

Re: Trott quits the tour!
And he was a dashing batsman-keeper of early promise, whose career fizzled away. So whether the psychological ailment brought on, or derived from, that prolonged anti-climax, he has a position based on experience.beamer wrote:He did talk about his own depression issues contributing to the end of his career apparently, so obviously is someone talking from experience even though he wasn't an international player.skully wrote:Cheers D. Two, where did I say Warner had any inkling of Trott's mental state?
Re: Trott quits the tour!
Warner should have been done on Saturday night about 30 seconds after he mouthed off ...by either the ICC Match Ref or by CA ...Now if they do him its knee jerky because Trott has stressed outRed wrote:Must admit it is somewhat surprising that Clarke whose spontaneous comments were only punished because the mike was turned on cops a penalty whereas Warner who obviously pre-planned his avoids any admonishment despite demeaning an opposition player in a gratuitous fashion.
If Gilly can get fined for saying at a closed football club lunch that in his opinion Murali's action isnt strictly legal ...then mouthing off about a rival player at the afterplay presser should be a definite

Re: Trott quits the tour!
Bailey surprises me.
WTF was he into when confronting the English batsmen.
Didn't exactly cover himself with glory with the bat to warrant the high horse attitude!
I thought I liked the guy watching him on TV with a perpetual bon homie expression . . . but not so sure now.
Once again - I see Lehmann's influence.
It's all well and good reverting to "the mongrel" - but being rabid with it is an entirely different and unsavoury affair.

From the ICC, most likely. It goes against their code of conduct. Jeff Crowe, obviously DGAF. Which is fair enough, I suppose. But it sets a bad precedent.embee wrote:

Piss poor from the ICC ...but unless Boof authorised the slagging off ...then CA should have been all over Warner before he left the room ...and if Boof authorised he should be told to ****** off
I love a good sledge and hard play ...but that was piss poor from Warner
