Yeah, not sure what his remaining career objectives are, he's had two very ordinary seasons since leaving the England fold. Moving to Div 1 is sensible for anyone with international aspirations but surely those hopes are now long gone despite the lack of success in replacing the likes of him, KP and Trott in recent years? I half expected him to retire having not got himself in Ashes contention.

Anyway, following Anderson's Old Trafford honour, it's about time the Belf had an end named after him at Edgbaston Wink

I can imagine the late, great Johnners on TMS  .......

"So, Warner takes guard, middle and leg. First ball of the match and Jimmy Anderson's running towards the Bell end"

It would be apt, wouldn't it?

Unlikely, but he'd be hoping for a tickle off de Kock's bat.

JKL's last post.

Given his avatar (Boof at a presser), I thought he might rock in to comment on Boof's "involvement" in recent events.

lardbucket wrote:It's happened at least once before.  Kevin Badcock to Viv Richards in an Australian Domestic ODI, late 70s IIRC. Badcock was a good bowler, but Viv monstered a drive back at him and it hit him, like in the famous Monty Python sketch, 'right between the eyes, never a chance to move'.

Recently I was flying back from Brisbane to Launceston, my current home town, and struck up conversation with the two ladies seated beside me about the situation in the [Ashes] cricket. The lady immediately adjacent to me let me know that her husband Kevin had played for the State in his day, and ... you guessed it ... he'd lost his cricketing mojo after a certain incident with a Mr IVA Richards! She was surprised when I immediately said I remembered the incident and was able to rattle off most of the names of most of Kevin's then team mates.

Kevin is far more interested in horses than cricket these days.
