He'll get nowt by way of bounce at New Road. The pitches don't really rag much either until later in the season

Lyon's pretty wily though - seasoned old dog - so I presume he'll work it out, the "F & G".

Nice. Pujara has signed for Nottinghamshire as cover for Pattinson. Seems to enjoy it there; hope he signs a season long deal before long.
Weirdly, he earns less than some IPL specialists like Uthappa. Shame

Div 1 is interesting - I can see Essex doing okay, providing that they get their money's worth from Chef before England duties beckon.
Surrey have hit their stride and look the side to beat.
As for Div 2, the top four sides are pretty much a division within a division - the rest look poor on early season evidence.

Home semi-final for Worcs. in the Royal London Cup - that'll be a nice little earner then.

Fiftieth first-class ton for Marcus Trescothick - a Somerset record.
Did I mention that Worcestershire gave Derby a shellacking? I have now.

I'm trying not to get carried away Horrie. We had a purple patch this time last season, but the wheels came flying off in all directions.

Derbyshire update - played 3 lost 3.
Also, farewell to Sangakkara who has announced his planned retirement from first class cricket at the end of the summer. One of my all time favourites.
Particularly liked this:
P.s. Hope everyone here is well. Looks like the place has lost Danny too.

Re: English Domestic Season 2017
Thought I may as well pop my head in with Essex top of the Div 1 table and go huzzah! huzzah! like a true gloryhunter, as it's not gonna last. Still think we're one of the favourites to go down, but if we hold out against Slurrey tomorrow then I couldn't really have asked for more than 5 unbeaten.
