A useless but interesting stat is that England are the only team with the entire squad playing in their home league.

Looks a reasonable dominant win by England.

Well that was dramatic.

Croatia beat Russia on penalties after a 2-2 full time result.

France v Belgium and England v Croatia in the semis.

It’s magical.

I was too young to remember 1990 so this is the best World Cup I’ve ever experienced. No expectation for once before the tournament either which makes it all the more sweeter.

I think it’s a 50/50 against Croatia and if we did get through we would be massive massive under dogs for the final.

But it’s the best chance we’ve had in a generation. Either way this has been an amazing tournament and even if they finish 4th they’ll get a heroes welcome on their return.

Croatia looked battered after their gruelling match. Surely they will struggle to get up in just 4 days against a rampant England.

I fancy us to win that match, I really do, but it will be close. Just ****** buzzing that we are even this far. One more match and we're in the final. Will be tears whatever happens on Wednesday evening.

England looks like they will take the Cup now despite only beating a mediocre Sweden.

Can't believe the number of penalty shootouts.

They just seem fated to do it. Guess there are always twists and turns in any tournament though.

Certainly has a better ring to it than Belgium V Croatia although it's been 20 years since the last new winner so maybe now is the time.

For those into numerology, one curious thing about the quarter-finals is that all four matches were played between combatants with six and seven letters i.e. Russia and Croatia etc. And all were played on the 6th and 7th of July.

France the first to the big dance.

They looked strong in the 1st Half, then went ahead from a corner early in the 2nd Half, then Belgium decided to play. But they couldn't overcome the 1-0 Frog advantage.

Wow, France look brilliant. Clean sheet against one of the best teams in the world and the scariest striker since Brazil Ronaldo.

It will be an absolute mugging if either Croatia or England beat France, think they might have just had their final.
