Re: Football WC 2018
Bad luck Vilks but it has to be said that the Croats looked more purposeful in front of goal.
Re: Football WC 2018
Yeah, definitely. Thought we bossed the first half but went to pieces after that and Croatia had cooler heads and capitalised. Best team won.

England have a young team that is good and should get better. Augurs well for Qatar 2022.

They will need a playmaker though.

Hope the French have more luck than Napoleon in Russia. Expect the locals will support them given their historic antipathy to Croatia. As Qmy would know Croatia was even more brutal in WW2 than the Germans.

The Frogs will be fresher, faster and taller than the Croats.

Trying to understand the Balkans is one the three hardest things you can do. The others being the middle east and holding back the tide. Of the three holding back the tide is probably the easiest.
However I think I'll take the nasties over the collaborators.

By 6.30 this morning when it was clear that England was about to bow out, the song was already being rewritten by wags.
England certainly guilty of parking the bus once it went ahead but as mentioned could have been further up at the break. It's hard to turn on momentum like a tap. Well done to the Croats though as they've played some long matches with extra time but just kept going.
Most suspect that France can still go up a gear though there have been plenty of surprises in this tournament so they're far from over the line.
A couple of the Belgian players expressed their bitterness with the way the French played after the match saying they would prefer to play the Belgian way and lose, than the French way and win. Surely sounds like sour grapes.

That's why there were so many memes. Don't think anyone realistically thought we could win it as even if we had scraped past Croatia we would have been annihilated by France. But seeing everyone else's reactions to those memes was hilarious.Bradman wrote:God I hate that farking song.
Can't see Croatia winning as they've essentially played an extra match to get there. Would love them to win but I think England will be once again be the only country to only win it once of the countries that have won it.

It's Coming Home to Wembley 2020. That was what the first song was originally about anyway .Red wrote:

Would be funny if England don't even qualify for Euro 2020.

Not President Boris will allow his soccer team to play in a euro comp.
