Starc called it just didn't approach the second run with the desperation required

probably doomed after that praise BD
However, only two half centuries in the match so far, both by the captain ...
Kohli 'the best batsman in the world' 50 off 123 balls
Paine 'the slug' 50 off 68 balls
So far, his shot selection has been good.

Like Kohli, he's hardly looked troubled.
Quality knock.

Hardly worth Hazlewood coming out, is it?

Another soft wicket as Lyon spoons one to mid wicket.
Hopeless from Aust - does Langer actually coach cricket skills?

Paine is going to get out trying to hit boundaries, it's inevitable.

Not sure why they aren't taking the runs. Might as well get quick runs and let them bat tonight. A run an over for 15 overs isn't going to help.

He's obviously hoping to eke out another 10 or so with a couple of boundaries in 2-3 overs.

Well done to 9, 10, 11 to help Ima add 80 from 7-111.
A 53 run deficit with 30 mins bowling under lights is very acceptable from the hole we were in.
Great knock from Ima.

I guess it's promising that we had so many dud shots (and run outs) for wickets yet we are still in the game.

If we can take 3 wickets tonight we might just reach parity in the game.

Cummins yorks Shaw....thru a gap he could have put a basketball through.
Bumrah in as NW....an odd move which leads me to wonder is Pooj OK? Because there is no batsman in world cricket I'd trust more to last an over and a half when scoring is a zero priority....

Shaw needs to ****** off back to domestics.
Rest, well once Warner comes back and Smith gets his groove on, Australia will have us over like chicken over a barbecue.
Tasty and easy.

Had India not given so many chances, we would be much further behind.

India running up the white flag already?
Re: Australia v India, 1st Test, Adelaide, 17-21 December, 2020
6-19, Kohli now one of the six....Snotty shows excellent low long-lead chest marking technique (Sumich influence?) to send Virat off. This game unlikely to make it to a third night.
