although he did get the other one right, when it was given not out
Is it time to rename the Border Gavaskar trophy the Border-Kohli trophy?

I get that Starc is at his most dangerous with the new ball but can anyone provide a reason why Haze gets the new ball ahead of Cummins?

Rahane didn't have his best ten minutes as a Test cricketer right there - absolutely fries his captain, then blows a review that even the dreaded Mr Watson may have walked past

Good to see Cricwaves thinking two wickets ahead, like all good Captains and commentators are told to...according to them India are 8 down

Excellent day's Test Cricket.
Tough for the batsmen for 2 sessions with good bowling by Aus. Then the Bannies freed up through Kohli (hardly looked troubled all day) and Rahane.
Then came the night session. Rahane ran out Kohli and the new ball got a further two poles.
Saha and Ashwin looked positive. Aus will have to bowl tight and work hard to get into the ferrets.

Relatively poor Indian batting performance after looking solid at times. Dud of the day has to be Rahane.

Think the Bannies are on top. Had some good and bad luck, esp Coli. Our blokes bowled pretty well. Thought Green was impressive.
Agree with that young Skully fella. A good days Test cricket, as it should be.
3 lessons
1. Paine should delegate review decisions and move his slips up further
2. The AO pitch again bombed. Any promising young SA quick should persuade his folks to move.
3. Thought the Fox commentary was light years better than the fatuous pap served up for decades by Nein.

... may weigh on his mind as he captains the next few Tests in Kohli's absence.

As they say, runs on the board. By D/N Test standards, 6-233 on Day one is a good result for India.
Aus really need to polish off the rest of the Bannies early to make the most of the daylight before the inevitable carnage of the night session.

And this score means we're probably screwed. It was looking pretty good, even with the dreaded evening session and all, Kohli was in total control after a run of massive luck, and that idjit Rahane was supporting him well. I was almost like 'what evening session, eh? eh?". And then that run out.
6/233 should have been 3 or max 4/280 odd. And that's going to be the difference.

To be fair to Rahane who knew that Lyon was capable of taking a return over the stumps and knocking the bails off
