Bad luck Furri. Oz has had its share of appalling days. This time it was India's turn for a shocker.
I did have a look at one of the Indian cricket forums today. There is a massive market for effigies.

Lowest scores at Adelaide Oval
20 - Gold Coast (2017)
26 - Western Bulldogs (2018)
29 - Essendon (2020)
33 - Adelaide (2020)
34 - Fremantle (2019)
35 - Adelaide (2020)
35 - North Melbourne (2020)
36 - India (2020)
#AUSvIND
That is very funny.
Last 16 wickets (exc Shami) went for 80 odd. Second worst defeat by a Test team with a lead on the first innings.
I have a sense Skully may do some triv on this match.
Australia have won at least twice by 10 wickets after trailing on the first innings: 4th Test v Windies 1973, and 1st Ashes Bris 90-91. In the next match after Brisbane Aus matched today, winning by 8 wkts after trailing.
(And I won't mention Calcutta 2001 if you don't....)

I didn’t know they played cricket there... anyway, it’s called Myanmar nowBlackadder wrote:PMSL at the ending , Monty brings up his 51 with a dropped catch from Burma going for 6.

I don't see how India come back from this. There must be some heavy duty mental scarring going on.

Well, I've seen some remarkable day's cricket in my time but few beat that (maybe the day Michael Clarke took 6-9 and we still lost).
Has anyone mentioned JtB today??
I guess 2nd and Purple just had one of those rare perfect days.
Cheapest michelles (5-fer) for Aus:
5-2 E Toshack 1947-48
5-6 H Ironmonger 1931-32
5-8 J Hazlewood 2020-21
5-9 T May 1992-93

I guess we should be pleased for Monty.
Was it wrong of me to hope that he broke his elbow before Lunch?

He’s sealed his place for the next Ashes now. Can’t do any worse than your 2019 openers anyway

A whitewash would be a big statement, and definitely cement Australia’s place at the top of the rankings.Red wrote:Basil wrote:I don't see how India come back from this. There must be some heavy duty mental scarring going on.

Whether they (or NZ for that matter) can win away Tests in Asia is a different matter, but you’d back that attack to take wickets in nearly all conditions. So only really having two batsmen isn’t that big an issue!

Yep. Furry and Tricky as well have worn the defeat well.
Forum Mintie to anyone who can find the inevitable Karti article that patiently explains how India won a moral victory.

Is it just me, or is AutoBloodyCorrect lately going from its default level of regulation feral to absolutely bloody raving barking mad even faster than the Trump fan club?
Suppose we should be thankful 'Burma' wasn't re-re-badged as Myer Marble Bar....

As an Indian supporter I've gotten habituated over the years to being bent over and rammed - to the point it seems to have become enjoyable.
But seriously I will say that this was as bad as I've seen it, possibly the worst single day of Indian cricket I've watched as a fan, starting India Pakistan early eighties. More of the same might just kill it for me.
And the worst thing is, now I can't even laugh at England, way they're playing.

He seems to be writing a lot about T20 so he may have given up on cricket

Hope he is ok. He has not updated that list since October. I liked Karti. He was rarely nasty and rarely rose to the bait.
