Weren't there a few sub contintent wrist spinners who bowled at that age? Anybody remember?
I reckon you're thinking of Bob Holland.
No though I know of Holland. Name an Indian spinner who was pretty senior at least. He was famous.
I will check out the two names I remember and their age.

They're both crocked
from foxsports.com.au
"A groin strain suffered in the outfield means Casson bowled only one over on day one, while McGain's impressive return of three for 51 was soured by a shoulder strain in his right bowling arm.
The pair did not bowl early in the second day. "

He made the age criteria
I must have been thinking Bishen Bedi and he was near that age but left arm orthodox as you know.
McGain's age must not be a worry possibly because of Holland and the huge number of Kerry O'Keefe's currently around.

Aussie A 2/24 already. Hughes out for 1, Voges out for a duck.

Abdul Qadir was the bowler I was thinking of. He is almost 53 and definetly played in 1988 but I can't find his last game so I guess he may have made 34 years as a wrist spinner.

7/111
This is the future.
At least the future Australian captain is making some runs - currently 35*.

If it wasn't for their depth, Aus would be in serious trouble here.

Are Victoria and WA the Aussie forerunners in t20 becoming international by way of the Challenge series.
Is it bye bye ODI in the long term? Obviously they want a game to fit into a three hour or so timeslot like most games.
American Baseball must show close to 70 games a week.

Re: India A vs Australia A in India
Aus A mifgt have got out for 116 but right now they are hammering each and every Indian bowler in the squad. This shows that there was certainly something for the bowler in this pitch on the first two days.
I'm I'm glad that the myth of Chawla and Parmar being good bowlers for longer version is being hammered into pieces.
Goel,
Any idea why Sree didn't play? Is he still not fit enough?

Chawla hasn't done anything earthshattering in ODIs as well.
As for Sree I think he is yet to recover fully.
And hence domestic season will be so very important for each and every hopeful for Aus test series.

I heard that RoI XI for Irani trophy will consist of regular Indian test players except for Delhi players like Sehwag, Ishant and UMB.

Re: India A vs Australia A in India
If Indian captain would not have done so, the stupid media here might have gone after him that after failing with bat in the 1st innings, he was being selfish to get another opportunity in this match itself.
And you might not know that your bowlers would be hammered after dismissing the opposition for just 116. And if you look at it from India's point of view, this was the only way they could have secured an outright win. So I don't blame the India captain. In fact it is good that these Indian pretenders are being exposed!

At 109/2 Aus are hardly starting to get away from India. They're effectively -59/2.
