Re: West Indies v Bangladesh, 1st Test, Kingstown, July 9-13
Bangladesh shouldn't even be a test nation. It's an embarrassment if you ask me.

I think 99% of us are in agreement on that one, Smerks.

There was once a time a few years ago when I would have said, "Give them a chance, I know they'll come good eventually"
It seems as the years go on, that they make less and less scores over 300 in any given innings. I'm sure Ireland or Afghanistan could do that much more regularly.

Aye. The Lankans showed what can be done. Minnows to highly competitive in around 15 years.DJ_Smerk wrote:There was once a time a few years ago when I would have said, "Give them a chance, I know they'll come good eventually"

Alas, the Bangers don't seem to be making such progress and are records fodder for the subi FTBs.

Jamie Siddons went into meltdown after the bangers provided another gashlord performance in the T20 WC.

Well I honestly think Bangladesh should be dominating our D team, especially when we select only 4 specialist batsmen and a plethora of bits and pieces players.
Our senior team at full strength is horrendously inconsistent, so to be outplayed by what is not even our 4th choice XI is disgraceful. Serious questions will have to be asked because what chance do they have against the other test nations on this evidence?
As has already been said, Ireland have the potential to be a much more competitive test nation. It's time for the Bangles to pull their fingers out.

321/5 - another 100 could put the Bangers out of sight.

Looks like a Bangla win all the way from here. They have spinners who will strangle and kill the home side if allowed to get a 300 or more lead. Hell even 270 something score may be risky for the home team, batting last.

Looks like WI will be facing their first ever embarrasing home defeat against Bangladesh.
Hell even a series defeat looks possible at the moment!
I just don't see a draw in this series given the fact that both sides are equal in strengths and carpness. There is no sign of any side scoring too much or holding out a whole day batting last for a draw. At the moment though, the Bangals hold the edge and possibly the momentum after the test. They could spring a 2-0 surprise.
A 1-1 series will be bad for WI. A 2-0 wipe out would be too disasterous! The seniors who walked out of the series will benefit immensely in which case, as the board may lose out on ammunition to punish them harsh.
If the home side wins the rubber comfortably, the strijking player will find themselves fighting the board for more months than they have counted on!

And the cheaping of Test cricket in the Caribbean continues.
FFS, why didn't they call some of their ATGs out of retirement. They couldn't have done worse.

Re: West Indies v Bangladesh, 1st Test, Kingstown, July 9-13
Well they collapsed big time to be bowled out for 345 thanks to some brilliant bowling by Kemar Roach and a solid line and length from Sammy who ended up with a 5 wicket haul (though the last wicket was a real shocker from Tony Hill).
Tbh whatever happens Bangladesh have been disappointing, they have been outplayed for most of this match by Windies D. Even a 2nd innings collapse wont cover up these facts.

Hahahahahahhaha oh Lord.........................
Dale Richards is hit infront of the stumps but is given not out by Ashocka. He was expecting to be given out so went for a walk down the wicket. The fielder threw down the stumps and that was out.
Farcical stuff. The players are mostly substandard for test cricket but these two umpires are completely clueless as they have been all game. Thank God they are not doing any Ashes matches or there would be an almighty fuss.

The last Windian farcical run out was in NZ involving Morton and Chanderpaul?
I haven't seen the recent one, but does that top it?

Kemar Roach was outstanding in both innings and got the ball to reverse swing both ways, which as England found out, is a very hard skill to master in the Caribbean. He will definitely be a starter from here onwards.
Ryan Austin didn't take many wickets but looked very good and has a lovely traditional off spinners action so I think they will be giving him a chance instead of Benn.
Omar Phillips looked good in the first innings but is just a little loose and is not quite ready yet, but he has done his overall cause no harm.
Nikitta Miller looked very ordinary and has probably hurt his own chances. Tino looked exactly the same as always, fast but not moving the ball enough to be a real threat.
