Aliens & games with spaceships generally suck. Elite from 25 years ago excluded. Factamundo.

I tell you the problem with games nowadays - they're nearly all shooters (or medieval weaponry-ers). Shoot this, kill that. There are few clever RPGs, nothing like Ico that was just a bit different. It's all a bit dull if you be aksin' me.

You could get that new crikit game but it's probably w@nk. Like all crikit games. Apart from Stick Cricket.

Nuthin' beats Serious Sam where them brainless, shoot and kill anything that moves genre FPS games are concerned.
cheers

I don't get to play any new games last 3 years now. They are all too long and time consuming and I don't get to make the kind of hard time required to follow and play 'em.....

From all them war games, me still thinks Medal of Honour and Call Of Duty are just about the right choice. Rest all suck. Still to see a fun filled, action packed and yet smart absorbing game like Max Payne though!

I still fancy a round of Dead Or Alive, Tekkan Tag or Mortal Kombat on Playstation though....

Can't beat online games like Battlefield & CoD imo, twice the fun when you kill real people and scream 'die motherf*cker' in their faces.

Agreed. A majority of them Star Trek & Star Wars tactical games sucked big time.

Only Half Life turned the curve mixing aliens and science into one dark horror.
Aliens v/s Predator role player on the other hand was quite good...

Ashes 2009 works on the Wii. Sports games usually do.

On a lighter note, i've recently bought Fat Princess and i'm loving the style of it so far. However there were some issues regarding connection to online servers and finishing the games can take a long time.

Get Call of Duty World at War, if only for the Nazi Zombies mode. Literally all my summer I haven't spent gigging or watching cricket has been spent on that. They've recently brought out a fourth map that looks even better but I haven't managed to get a go on it yet.

Left 4 Dead is f*cking awesome. And I've just realised that my copy is few hundred miles away. Lame.

Hardly ever do myself. The missus bought Ashes 2009 for the Wii and I thought I'd have a go. But I'm not really a computer game player - I get bored within an hour and it never gets used again.

Haven't even used the kids Wii. Used to play computer chess. Does that count?

You and Taips are old gits though, whereas I grew up with the home computer boom in the early 80's so am still likely to be playing when I reach your age Wink

Isn't the age of the average gamer about 35?

Regarding COD and L4D. I'm not a huge fan of FPSs so i don't really like playing many of them.

Plus Activision have raised the price of Modern Warfare 2 and have a 'Prestige Edition' which costs about £110 and are responsible for the various Guitar Hero games. They can fark off.

I'm with JK Wag on this one, I don't think its a problem playing computer games when your quite old.

I mean obviously don't confess it to a public forum if you're 60 and still playing Paper Mario, but you know.

Meh, it'll be different for my generation as we grew up playing games on PC, the previous lot didn't. Plus let's be honest blokes don't ever really grow up.
