Batman wrote:How many of your blokes played The Grand Auto Theft IV though and how long did it take to finish?

Shocked

Played till the end of single player (60%) but i couldn't be bothered to complete it 100%. Can't remember how long it took, might be around 40 hours.

Another reason Civ IV is great - Leonard Nimoy does the narration.

Or you could just go to youtube and watch how people go through the levels. Wink

Or you could just work the problem out yourself.

Fallout 3's really good but it is just Oblivion with Guns. The old zoom in and blow some body parts off is a nice touch for all of ten minutes, then you realise that lurking underneath there's a rubbish story, unrealistic AI, and a lot of nice post-apocalyptic scenery. They should have skipped it and made Elder Scrolls whatever number they're on now. 'Cause Oblivion was good. Even then, Oblivion was only a poor simulacrum of Morrowind which is probably my second favourite game ever.

PS - You can download Portal now on Xbox Live, so if you haven't already done so, get it done JK!

Tried playing Morrowind recently but just couldn't get into it, might have been the graphics but then I still play the Baldur's Gate games so that's usually not a problem.

Yeah, a small minority of people don't like Morrowind. A small minority of people are also gay.

True, but what can you do when you are totally stuck, thats when i use walkthroughs. Ninja Gaiden - try playing that without any help.

I probably would have loved it if I'd played it when it first came out, but going from the ridiculously beautiful Oblivion to Morrowind proved too much it would seem.

Pfft KOTOR > Oblivion. I still haven't played Mass Effect. I should probably do so before the second one comes out.

Agreed. Mass Effect is great also, there's a new Bioware game called Dragonage which is coming out soon, really looking forward to that.

Oblivion is an insanely beautiful looking game though. And Baldur's Gate and both Neverwinter Night's games are brilliant as well.

Honestly, that's exactly what I thought but it was bundled into the Orange Box so I thought I'd give it a go.

Played it from start to finish without any breaks, very funny game and by far the best puzzle game I've ever played. Probably the only puzzle game I've ever liked in fact.

I think the reason why it's so brilliant is that every single puzzle makes you feel like a genius for working it out, but it never once leaves you stumped. I'm generally shit at puzzles and whatnot and I didn't get stuck for more than a minute or two throughout the entire play through.

Plus it has one of the all time best video game baddies.

Portal? It's f-ing brillo.

Came as part of the "Orange Box" Half Life episode 2 package last year.

Addictive, clever, silly - f-ing brillo.

Hmmm, I'd be tempted if the recommendation came from someone who wasn't touting Luke Sussex as the next big thing Wink

What's this orange box thing then? I just got mine with a 60G HD.

It's a game package from Valve, containing Half Life 2 (and episode 1 and 2), Portal and a couple of multiplayer online things).

I heartily recommend Portal as a weirdly compelling little beauty.

Dunno how good an impression the demo will give, as the game is perfectly paced and gets better the further you go into it.

But give it whirl.

I think we can all agree that Valve are easily in the top 5 best developers ever and in with a good shout of being THE best.

Every game they have released has been a classic.
