You would think if he has anything about him, counties would be queueing up to get hold of a raw left armer.

God some of the List A batting averages of these guys are rubbish- Mike Yardy averages 22.9 after 145 games FFS! And I seem to remember him batting at 4 for England for a while.

It's not really a surprise that we can't produce ODI batsmen capable of making big scores when you look at some of these stats.

Someone will take a punt on him, surely. Even if it's just Derbyshire or Leics. Only 23.

Think that's Dwayne Smith, even this Notts side wouldn't lose four in an over to an opening batsman...

Shambles from Nottinghamshire in keeping with our second half of the season. Mick Newell, having built the side up with a competent hand over years, is quickly dismantling all his good work. Team selection is a shambles, the incoming players are joke players, and the standard of cricket is going rapidly downhill.

On the up-side, with a bit of movement under lights, young Alex Hales did, for the first time, convince me that he's a prospect.

Well, at least we made three figures... not much to play for I guess with no relegation, unless they've now decided it will have some impact on the new 40-over competition which replaces both this and the FPT next season?

Agree with your sentiments though, he does have too many off days.

Didn't help his cause getting 3 balls at the end of a T20 innings batting at number 8 earlier this season.

Don't think the selectors know what to make of him - late developer or show-pony who only turns up when the cameras are rolling!

Well, the cameras are always rolling at England games... missed opportunity at the World T20, why did they select him if they weren't going to give him a go?

Even if his batting only comes off on rare occasions, on those occasions it will win you games. Someone who scratches around at S/R 70 in ODIs or S/R 100 in T20 won't do that.

The commentators could not understand why Suppiah didn't get a bowl and it's hard to disagree with that. Matthews played a blinder - should do very well for Essex in future - unless Surrey come calling with their big fat cheque book!
