Re: Rugby Leeeeeg 2011
Actually I'm a critic myself but the system seems to have worked well this year. With ten teams in contention (technically) until the end and a number of games to decide match-ups and home ground.

It also means that there isn't an incentive to lose the 4v5 and 3v6 game if you think that the opponent would be easier.

The Chief reckons she heard them say on the Nein coverage yesty that in the history of the current system 4th had never beaten 5th. I dunno if it's right and couldn't be arsed checking but it seems unlikely.
But go the Drags.

Re: Rugby Leeeeeg 2011
Surprised no-one commented on the Filth's sacking of Zorba over the "good sort" debacle.
What a farken joke. Outside the judiciary, instead of boring us with "no comment" he changed the subject by twice telling the Foxy reporter Megan Barnard she was a "good sort". There's nothing wrong with Zorba's eyesight, cos if I was allowed, I'd tap this...
What a pile of bullsh!t. It was a harmless, deflecting and complimentary remark. And the qunts sacked him. What a pack of farksticks they are at Brookvale. I hope the qunts fall over quick-time in the semis.

Re: Rugby Leeeeeg 2011
And this
"Manly’s decision to sack media manager Peter Peters has claimed another victim, with former player Ben Kennedy ending his association.
Kennedy has joined Manly’s greatest player, Immortal Bob Fulton, and icon Ken Arthurson in giving the Sea Eagles a spray after Peters was made redundant following his gaffe to a Sky News reporter."
....
"Kennedy, a former NSW and Australia forward who was named in Manly’s team of the century, said “I love Des Hasler and the boys but Manly has lost me forever”.
“One hundred per cent,” Kennedy said.
“I am absolutely heartbroken. Zorba has lived and breathed and bled for Manly over 40 years. This is an absolute disgrace.”
-----------------------------------
Zorba would cut his right arm off for Manly, and they treat him like this.

Phurt. I saw it live, and my reaction was "good onya, Zorba, keep it real". And I'm sure Ms Barnard was not offended in the least. What chick doesn't like to be told they look fine, even if it is from a creepy Ron Jeremy lookalike.
Fark me dead, what is wrong with the world?

Everything skulls. I'm not judging him on his taste, just his total seperation from reality in this day and age.
Considering the Johns brothers still have gigs he should feel hard done by.
Though it would've helped if he looked more like Valentino then RJ.

Zorba had reportedly been asked by the club NOT to be at the hearing, and if he did attend, not to say anything, because - funnily enough - he has a knack of generating more controversy.
That's what someone close to the club said anyway...

Re: Rugby Leeeeeg 2011
I do like how Manly have been complaining about 'losing' their home ground advantage by having to play a final at the SFS. Anything to build up their siege mentality. All NRL clubs signed off on the plan to move all NRL Sydney finals to the SFS or ANZ so as to avoid the debacle of last year where thousands couldn't get in to the Drags' match against Parra.
Manly... that's part of England, right?

Its called Political Correctness & it will be the end of civilisation as we know it. PC is an inherently undemocratic process that promotes censorship, allows minorities to dominate over the majority and deamonises anyone or anything that shows any form of individuality.
It is the curse of the Western World & should be fought at every level.

Good guys up by 6 at half time but they've missed 2 goals which will probably end up costing us.

Benji scored the arsiest try I've seen in a long time. Went to kick it, looked like he missed it completely for a knock-on (but TV ref ruled he knicked it), bounced off Drags player back into his arms and over by the posts.
