Re: Australian Domestic Cricket 2011/12
Dropped into Bellerive for a couple of hours on the way home. Very slow wicket & outfield are making runs hard to get. Fairly even contest at the moment but can't help feeling Tassie are about 30 runs short of keeping the Vics out.
Re: Australian Domestic Cricket 2011/12
Just looked at the scoreboard - if they get a wicket fairly soon, they're well in it. Also it would appear from the figures so far that Hilfy has outbowled any of the other pacemen on show ... a good sign for his recovery.

Aye. Hilfy opened with three maidens on the trot & Wade did'nt have a clue against him. Bailey also took, what will be, one of the catches of the season.
Vics need 96 from 102 balls. They should get tem but it will be close.

Not over yet. As i said, Tassie were about 30 runs short & will have to bowl out Vic to win.

Tassie are already struggling with the Shield Game starting tomorrow. Cossie is out with a Hammy. Maher is out with a hip. Triffitt is still out with his shoulder & Krazy has been dropped for Doherty. Its going to be 'Tough Country' for Tassie.
Re: Australian Domestic Cricket 2011/12
With Cossie out, at least the others won't starve.

Aye. We should still have Hilfy, Butters, Faulkner, and maybe Drew to provide pace and medium pace support ... Kruger and Cowan get reprieves they might not have got otherwise ... with Bailey, Doolan, Doherty, and Jones that's still a useful side. An opening there for Gulbis, maybe?

Looks like Warnie is going to be playing in the domestic T 20 stuff.
I might have to out to see him one more time.

had the same thought myself...the issue is balancing the interest in seeing Australia's only 'immortal cricketer' in 60 years with my loathing Tosh20 cricket

Looks a tidy effort by Ryan Broad v Wozzies - 135 out of 242 when he lost his wicket.

It's exciting, yes, but no need to out yourself or turn over it.

And btw, weren't the Worriers a bit mediocre last season as well?

Vics are slightly in front at stumps on the first day in Hobart. Vic 6/299. Wade 86 n.o. Two wickets each for Faulkner, Doherty & Gulbis.
