How the bookies see it now:

Djokovic Evens
Murray 7/4
Del Potro 40
Berdych 55
Others available at 66 or above. Potty has to be worth a fiver at that price doesn't he?

Serena 1/4
Kvitova 14
Others 25+

I suspect that's the last time Centre Court will see Federer, I can see him playing the US Open and maybe the Tour finals in London then calling it a day. Once he's no longer a realistic Slam contender it's hard to see him being motivated to go on.

Fed said he'll be back. Hopefully he won't be. He'll drop out of the top 4 now.

For the record, I had 15 on his opponent. So not a bad night at all.

They have to say they'll be back at this stage. Guess the rest of the year will make his mind up. How about a parallel with Sampras, who went out at the same stage of what turned out to be his last Wimbledon, then won the US Open before retiring? Then again, he didn't have rivals quite at the level of Djokovic and Murray on hard courts.

Seems he only has one good game in him these days. He beats a seeded player first round & then goes out to a journeyman. Shocked

Yeah. should be the last Wimbledon for Fed and Hewitt (who have 8 titles between them).

I think Fed's got one more year left in him. And perhaps even one more grand slam. Never write off a champion like him. Remember when Sampras won the 2002 US Open? Most people didn't think he had it in him anymore.

We had the same dilemma with Dokic, before Dock-Kick cleared off back to Dock-Itch country.

So, have the Aussie papers already featured the headlines ...

A TOMIC POWER STATION - when he muscles another poltroon aside

TOMIC BOMBS - when he goes catastrophically arse over tip

TOMIC ANNIHILATION - when either of the above happens on a big stage

He won't want to play when he's no longer a contender for major titles though. It's not like team sports where you can sometimes find a new role as you age, it's all for yourself and there comes a time where that dominant form just isn't going to come back. He's been the best, or close to it, for 10 years so what motivation will he have to drag himself round the circuit getting knocked out early?

In all these upsets no one's bothered to let Serena taste the same medicine. Disappointing. Sad
