Fred Nerk wrote:So what happened (besides time and growing up) sometime since 1995 to turn Hewitt from an obnoxious little turd to what we're all calling him this week? The same needs to happen to Nick as a matter of some urgency. (It may already be too late for the other bloke, who seems destined to fairly soon end an absolutely unfulfilled career as Bernie the Comic.)
I'm sure Bec Cartwright would take one (and possibly both) for Australia

That'd be Nick. Bernie looks and sounds far too much like Brendan Fevola.

I'm not a Joke hater these days, have actually gone from thinking he is nearly as bad as Nadal to him being pretty likeable in my eyes.
Having said that, he won't have any problems dispatching Federer who I would love to see win an 18th slam, so with that, come on Anderson!

Djokovic has had some pretty statesmanlike post-match press conferences lately.
I liked his comments when Wawrinka beat him recently. No whinging, no excuses - he did not say that he'd played badly, he simply said Wawrinka had outplayed him. Something we rarely hear.

Just realised, if he doesn't win the US Open it will be the first time since 2004 that we haven't seen him pick up at least one slam in a year.
What a beautiful year this could be for tennis.

He'd be pretty long odds to win the US Open so could nicely hedge yourself with a lazy tenner.

Joker's paying 1.20 for a one set shootout against a guy who would have spent the last 18 hours thinking about letting a 2 set lead vanish.
Sounds pretty good value.

A Golden Shower would be a better option

She originally stood by them before issuing the apology with the usual "I was taken out of context" excuse, but obviously her REAL thoughts are now there for all to see
I assume her manager/assistant had a quiet word in her ear.

Well, there's been a few... Gasquet does seem to have been around forever, but if he was playing Slams at 16 that explains it...PeterCS wrote:beamer wrote:Was thinking Gasquet must be about 35, he's only 29 in fact. Played his first Slam in 2002, though...
Were you thinking of a different Gallic G-Musketeer?

Anderson was toast after the 2nd set. He was confused they had to play on.

The wild child has escaped a fine for his behaviour and some wonder why we have so many tennis brats. Cricketers and footballers don't get away with what tennis players can.

Barmy Bahrami and Leconte taking on the Woodies in the "old farts' doubles" as Andy Murray referred to it the other day... always worth a watch!
