Surprised those people could write, because they obviously can't read.
Re: The Football Thread - 2011/12
So, what of Liverpool's players and fans' show of support for racism? Surely FA charges are in order, hard to argue with any combination of fines, points deductions or matches behind closed doors.
Maybe ban every player who wore the T-shirt for 8 games as well...

Re: The Football Thread - 2011/12
Blackburn Rovers must have the worst fans I have EVER seen in terms of getting behind their team. It must be such a f*cking horrendous atmosphere for the players to be playing at home and getting far more stick than they would at an away game. No wonder they can't do anything at home.
And then after probably the most volatile display of "support" ever witnessed at a home game they follow it up with 4 points from trips to Anfield and Old Trafford.
I would so be so ashamed right now if I was a Blackburn fan, they can obviously play and any team that beats Man United at Old Trafford has the quality to stay up, but with the way their fans are behaving at home I think they might well go down. Effectively every match they play is an away game at the moment, except the home games are probably even harder.

If Kean is sacked, I hope Blackburn are relegated by the end of March - their "supporters" deserve nothing more. If they stay up with Kean in charge I would hope that he has the cojones to walk round the ground after their last home game giving them all the finger before resigning.

HAHAHA.
What a day of upsets. Abramovich must be tearing his hair out. No matter how much money he pours in hos how good the Managers he gets, they can't quite crack it consistently. I blame the two has-beens Terry and Lampard. Bringing their teams down since 1998.

Last week Ferguson was defending Kean from the over the top reactions from fans, this week Manure decided to defend Kean's cause on the pitch. Magnanimous.
Fair play to the owners for not sacking him at the first chance, something that cannot be said of many foreign owners.
Good week for me, off to watch my team Pune FC on the 3rd and on the 10th January, India will be playing Bayern Munich Seriously excited by the matches, though the former is going to be seriously dull and Pune will likely lose and the latter's going to be a crushing defeat against the U19s.

Re: The Football Thread - 2011/12
Apologies if this was previously discussed but PMSL @ Fergie. Just heard it on the Nooz.
"Wayne Rooney was dropped from Manchester United’s team against Blackburn yesterday and ordered to pay a six-figure fine after a bust-up with manager Alex Ferguson.
In their star striker’s absence, Rooney’s team crashed to an unexpected 2-3 home defeat.
The row erupted, according to sources, because the 26-year-old striker and wife Coleen went out for a Boxing Day dinner with teammates celebrating United’s 5-0 win over Wigan earlier that day."
------------------------------------------------------------
What a miserable ol' qunt the Hairdryer is. Sad part is the Scum will probably still fall across the line.

Man U are very fragile this season. City will win it, although my heart is hoping for a Van Persie/Henry inspired charge toward the title from Arsenal.

That would be the best thing to happen in football for a long time, and an absolute fairytale ending to Henry's career with Arsenal.Henry wrote:Man U are very fragile this season. City will win it, although my heart is hoping for a Van Persie/Henry inspired charge toward the title from Arsenal.
Won't happen though, RVP will get injured and Henry will score a penalty maybe but nothing else. I hope I'm wrong of course, Arsenal have been my Premiership team ever since Forest were relegated.
Over ten years now out of the top flight. Perhaps I should stop watching their matches. Or even supporting them.
Yep, if I stopped supporting them they'll be in the Champions League in the next 5 years. I now support Farnborough.

The fault has to lie with Abramovich. If his appointments don't get immediate success, they are sacked. AVB will be sacked at the end of the season.Henry wrote:HAHAHA.

Avram Grant was literally a kick away from winning the Champions League. Ancelotti won the farking FA Cup and league double, which at a guess I would say is the only Chelsea manager to achieve this. Then he's sacked the next year.
It's an impossible job, Mourinho has been making noises about coming back to England but I doubt he'd go back to Chelsea whilst Abramovich is there.
Then again I'm not sure where else there would be to go, if Ferguson leaves United then Mourinho is the obvious choice, but I can't see that happening this season.

It's really quite unbelievable that Arsenal are back in the title race. If they beat United and City then the gap will only be 6 points, and City and United seem to be dropping points for fun at the moment.
If they can pull it off then it will rival their invincibles season considering the start they had.
If RVP gets injured they have no chance though.

A case of quality Trevving?Basil wrote:Quality choking from Man City
Perhaps a Glossary update is required, with "woofing" to be also known as "Trevving"?

They are totally different concepts. Trevving means you have been honestly upped by Trev leading to an inevitable career crash.
Reverse woofing is a generally shameless attempt to talk up the opposition in the hope that they fail and therefore hedge yourself with a "told you those qunts would win" if you are right or a 'WGAF, we won" if you are wrong. There is of course the variant of spot reverse woofing. For instance, "the Little Master is now only 6 runs away from his 100th hundred and what an innings to play to reach the milestone".

Whereas JGK merely has to show up and post "Aus/Spivs going well at the moment" and we're farked. Difference? I don't see it.

What JGK said.
examples of the relevant concepts, being actual or hypothetical examples:
trevving: "Simon Jones is going to take Australia apart during this tour down under" ... Simon Jones inevitably breaks his leg in 4 places during the first innings of the tour and can take no further part in the series
JGKing: "Warnie now just one run away from his debut ton, and he's hit that halfway to the boundary, where the only NZ fieldsman is a blind ataxic sloth"
(never underestimate the power of JGK)
reverse woofing (foowing): Doremi: 'We are DOOOOOOOOOOMED" (hoping to be wrong)
