Re: BCCI Twenty20 Champions League Trophy
Here's something odd...
The Mumbai Indians had so many 'injured' players, they asked for permsiision to field a fifith import. (That's not the odd bit.)
They were promptly granted permission to do so. (That's not the odd bit.)
The bloke who was the final player listed as injured, last week, in a match in Inida, scored 182. Link. (Yes, that's the odd bit. Although what's so odd about an Indian team being given permission to cheat by the Indian board does escape me.)

Keating Chunts.
And the Barrels looked to be a tad unlucky not to make the semis. After posting a very creditable 2-214 (Daniel Harris 108* and Fergie 70), the Challengers ran them down with a six off the last ball. Highlights could be worth watching.

As I said, top game from a spectatorship point of view. Well worth the watch.
Re: BCCI Twenty20 Champions League Trophy
Somerset also seems to play a lot of 'imports' whereas at least the Aussie teams play bona fide Aussies. Surely a real Champions League would dictate that the teams could only play homegrown products. That would determine who really are the strong domestic teams.

So, you would bet your mortgage ( I nearly said virginity) on any Oz state beating Somerset?

I'd be pretty sure that state sides would have a good chance of beating Somerset shorn of its imports.

Van Der Merwe & Kartik are the foreigners and Thomas the Kolpak. SA seem to have AU Rashid at their disposal if they see fit. I wouldn't.
But you're definitely right, humongous moral victory to SA & NSW - Aus in general (notice you didn't mention the South African lot).
Well done to you personally, Red. You must feel so, so, so proud that your brave boys are doing it without cheating - your contribution to their cause is great, too, I'm sure.
It doesn't make them the best domestic sides in the world though, because these teams play domestically - with foreigners. It improves the standard of competition throughout a season and hence may improve the bonafide homegrown players of their country at playing the game. Then, say, maybe SA would've been able to defend 214. Maybe they'd have been able to not bowl dobby half-trackers for tailenders to get under in the last 3 overs yesterday.
But I digress. Well done Red. Well done Australia. I bow before your domesticity.

Terrible feeling it'll be an all-evil final. It's the way of the world.

red, if it wasn't for the imports like Pollard, and Adil Rashid, a team like South Australia wouldn't have made the CLT20 in the first place. Oh, and Dwayne Bravo won the Big Bash for your own Victoria a couple of years back.

These new Big Bashers (Sydney Shemales, Perth Penis-Envies, Adelaide Arseclowns) all have the foreigners in. OK, they're mainly a bag of shite, but they not be FAIR FARQUEN DINKUM STRYANS for sure.
Re: BCCI Twenty20 Champions League Trophy
There's no such side as the Perth Penis-Envies. You just made that one up.

No. No shame at all. They're all McCricketViewers, yet they bitterly complain about it. Whilst getting shunted hard by the dollar. Tragic.

I told you, I don't want your piece. It's been in Frank Bough FFS!
Re: BCCI Twenty20 Champions League Trophy
I don't reckon the 'revamped' Big Bash will be any more or less successful than it was before.
Hopefully Matthew Hayden talking it up will ensure people turn away in droves.
