Without wanting to sound dramatic, any team that gets Hazard will be handing over their dignity and power to a 21 year old guy with a funny surname.
What's wrong with his name? Eden Hazard is a cool name. He sounds like a stunt motorcyclist.

I've heard. 200k a week?
RVP is on 90k and he's the EPL top goal scorer and nearly the best in the world.
Where does this kid get off?

Apparently it's pronounced like Aiden - the e from matinee. Aiden Hazard. I can picture Motty or one of the other MOTD commentators being all over the shop saying his name.

Aye, it's naughty. Still, hype surrounds someone and it's a moneymaker. And he is hyped. He's pretty much the bizzle, but peeps are really emptying their sacks over him.

He's carried on like an utter prick over this transfer.
So he'll be a perfect fit for Man United.
Shit hot talent, though. It'll be great to have him in the PL - for two years until he touts himself for a move to Real Madrid or Barca.
If Smerk is right and he wants 200k per week then only City can spunk that on wages in the Prem. Not sure even Romans wallet is that generous...

Having a silly name seems to help in football! That Messi isn't too bad is he...DJ_Smerk wrote:Dello wrote:DJ_Smerk wrote:Player power is killing the football world. I don't remember personally, but I've read there was a time when teams used to pick you to play for them, not the other way around.

He's more than half decent is Hazard, been very good when I've seen him play for Lille. That said, Joe Cole looked effective at stages of the season there.

Yeah, French football can be a bit misleading. Arsenal have signed some absolute shite out of there. Chamakh looks hopeless. Yet he was a "hot property" in France.
Gervinho is appalling. Yet he was Hazard's "star" teammate at Lille a year ago when they won the title.
Pretty sure Hazard's the real deal, though. Might not hit the ground running in the Premier League, but his skills are fantastic and I'd expect him to adapt pretty quickly.

That's Ruddy bad luck: Ruddy ruled out of Euro 2012 after breaking his finger in training.
Re: The Football Thread - 2011/12 (II)
A schoolboy error. He's getting married soon too, so that's wedding-night finger-banging ruled out as well.

Green; Jones, Jagielka, Lescott, Baines; Milner, Gerrard, Parker, Downing; Young; Carroll.
Jeysus. That's some uninspiring crappage. I know it's a friendly and all - and a bunch of people are unavailable - but that's a side of cloggers. Only about two can control a ball within four touches.
Good times.

And definitely not Rob Green, he couldn't control the ball with four touches with his hands.

Worst England side to ever go to a finals?

Re: The Football Thread - 2011/12 (II)
Quite possibily.
Braindead English journos will just reflect on the result.... can you imagine if we'd lost 5-3 to Switzerland or 2-1 at home to the Bulgars like Germany/Holland tonight?
Still, its all about doing a 'job' with mediocrity for Roy.

Only watched the first 15 minutes. Young's goal was very impressive.
Re: The Football Thread - 2011/12 (II)
England parked the bus by the 85th minute.
If it was against France, Sweden or Ukraine, they'd be farked.

The Germans and Dutch have the luxury of stability, which means they know their squad, their team, their capabilities, their system, and can use the friendlies exactly as they're intended - as a bit of a kick-about in the build-up to the big thing. Losing isn't ideal, but they don't face the daunting prospect of having to settle a randomly selected pile of crap into a new manager's ideals in a very short space of time.
Germany and Holland are a bit unlucky though. They're in the worst group of death in the history of the world, ever. Purely for the sake of the two hosts having some chance of progression in your typically rigged - sorry, seeded - tournament draw. Although it has to be said, this is a bloody hard tournament to win. Probably the hardest of the lot. 16 teams and not a one of them is sh!te. Except England.
