Good luck with that.
927 down, if the Poms join in you might yet get your 1000 ...
Basically there is only Basil left.
...and Petey
Very rarely posts.
He usually checks in every couple of days or so. Vilks on the other hand only posts every other month or so. Henry has been conspicuous by his absence as has Brockley & OP. Looking at the log on register, i can see that Growler, Readbok, doremi, Bennyfishel, Clutch & Dello all logged on in April so these people are still about. We just need to encourage them to post more.
Re: This forum - Dead then?
I don't think we'll see much English posting action until the South African series, then the Ashes.
OP usually posts when the Bangers are playing, especially if they are playing well, but rarely otherwise.

Have been in touch with Danny. Well but busy (punching preggos), sends his love, knows how to find us since we transferred domain. I think that domain change has had a fair effect on skully's treasured post count (visions of skully as Gollum).

Apathy- when you feel it's rather convenient, even de-stressing, someone posting for you.
Speaking of the IPL, some of you may take vague pleasure in knowing that Kohli's team is being blitzed, and angry/ baffled / frustrated doesn't begin to describe the man from his public utterances.

I have no idea if he still checks his old ngam email inbox.
Hope all is cool with him.
No, sorry, I can't even remember my own name, some old email addresses, let alone the passwords (worst bit about that is I've got some emailed horndog pre-selfie selfies of general nakedness, that're confined to the memory, which is the most shot-to-shit part of me).
Sound though Skully, thank you for thinking of me.
Lards texted me, I'd tried the usual web address which didn't work and didn't investigate further. Such a text reminded me that there was a life outside of self-indulgent faggotry and I decided to, eventually, crawl back here.
I may be a bit more sporadic, but it's criminal that I could even begin to contemplate the thought of abandoning people who(m) I think very highly of and who generally make me happy. Even reading through some of the stuff reminded me that you're all not just words on a page, but people who(m) I deem as very decent people and essentially are friends. The internet barrier makes it slightly different, but at the same time, there are genuine personalities behind the words and that's what makes this place special.
I endeavour to not flake out again, but cricket is pissing me off a bit, for no tangible reason... the same with all sport ATM. Not sure what's going on, but I should make more effort for the people, not for the game.
Much love, to all of you. You sincerely are good people.

Ah. This. It was quite a surprise (to wake up from a whiskey induced comatose at 02:30, to find a text from lovely Lards) but it was a nice one (no, I'm not off the rails, BTW). I never really disappear up my own shitbox, but I seem to have this time.

Aye, I think a few of us are pissed off with cricket. It's not the same as it was when I started posting on C4. (C2003?) I think. Actually I am pissed off with sport in general (rugby and football) Of course it might just be getting old.

With me it's the state of politics, or rather: society. Not just in the UK, but most "really" there, for me.
Most of all, the - to put in one word - Crosbyfication. You know, Sir (!) Lynton. ...
(I've posted on here on this, so I won't repeat myself. Might even not get past the dry boaking, if I tried.)
But in short, cricket (or any sport) as diversion - distraction even - only goes so far. As does letting off steam, which against that background easily becomes quiet rants.
Friends help - as you say, online quasi-friends even, less engaging, less real to an extent, but then maybe less "weight" too - music helps, love helps. Various things help.
T20 doesn't really.
50 overs, at least as background music on the radio, is a sort of sedative, conjuring a sense as if things are ordered but exciting, rather than mischievously createdly, dispiritingly chaotic.
By that token, maybe Tests are "hard drugs".
So that's a view.
Hope you are essentially well in spite of all whatever, Danny. And all.

Although Vilks hasn't posted since 17 April, and has only posted a couple elf times in the last 3 months, I've heard from him more recently and he's not doing too badly, though he's 'gone Northern' (Manchester).
I blame the IPL for the general feelings of disenchantment with cricket expressed by some above ... and Nein of course ... and Fox ... and (most of all) skully.

One thing that will never die is the press vultures of sycophants circling the Buckingham Palace media files to receive startling updates like an old, old man retiring from waving.
