Wowzers, Lyth.

Lyth was probably the next English opener in line two years ago. But he had a very poor 2011 season. He's got a long way to go before he's on England's radar again, but this is a start.

Dobbertastic. So much so that it was a keeper-up doodaa for more than half the time. Nice and accurate, which is what you'd look for in a bowler - but only one who was trying to slip himself - standard for a dobber.

What's the point of WIll Smith? Durham might as well send in a ten man team.

In defence of Jazzy Jeff's wingman, all of Durham's batsmen are stinking out the joint this season. I don't know if the pitch is a shocker up at the Riverside these days, but their FC averages read thusly:

Only two players have scored a FC hundred this season, and Wicky Wicky Will Smith is one of them (Stokes the other).

Onions 21.75, must be as flat as the SSC.

I was more thinking about Smith's not very special form as captain when Durham weren't shitehouse, at least batting wise compared to now, and even now..

Great effort by the Aussie A team to trail the mighty Durham side by only 38 runs on the first innings.

Durham now 4/38 in their second dig. Australia A in with a very rough chance of claiming an upset victory.

Ian Blackwell smashing Starc all over the park. 28 runs came off his last over although 4 were leg byes.

Durham bowled out for 185 leaving Aus A 224 to win. Looks too many for them to make.

AusA 0/41 off 5 overs.

I check the Lancs score, muttering to myself "This lot will probably be two down already", .... and they are 11-3.

Worse than following England.

Demon spinner Ian Blackwell takes a 5fer against Aus A, including two wickets in two balls just before lunch. Aus A 168/7 needing another 56 runs for victory.
