Beddy appears to be fighting a lone battle for Somerset here, are they going to fall one hurdle earlier than they usually do?

Yup.
It's Ange v Dello in the grudge match.
Canuck Jill and vilks looking on.
(Geoffrey Trueman - what happened to him?)

Anyway, unsurprising news of the day is that Jonny Bairstow's favourite singer is Ed Sheeran... well it was him or Mick Hucknall I suppose! I guess his favourite radio DJ is Chris Evans, his favourite athlete is Greg Rutherford and his favourite royal is Prince Harry...

Custard creams, perhaps? Or Rich Tea? They like their tea in Yorkshire...
Anyway, the Puddings are up against it here, always tough batting last in this after a whole day's cricket on the pitch. I was there at Edgbaston last year when Somerset failed to chase what initially looked a routine 140-odd as they couldn't get Leicestershire's bowlers off the square.

Re: County Season 2012 (II)
Was checking the County records last night and there's no mention of the recent 261 9th wicket stand of Madsen & Poynton for Direbyshire v Northants, even in the Derby v Northants partnership records. The highest in Cricket Archive for Derby v Northants is showing as just 78.
The overall 9th wicket record for Derby is 283.
Is this just a slow update thing? Or was the status of the match not worthy?

Must just be a slow update - it is after all a first class match - even if it does involve Direby

Aye, would've thought so, Bas. Pity the lads didn't add much to their overnight total to threaten the 283, with Poynton being bowled early next day.

Not so much leather as rubber. Dead rubber.
Not so young Tom Smith perhaps trying to save his contract with a ton off something like 60 balls, but it was a meaningless match even before it was called off.

Didn't the 'mighty' Derby beat some other county by an innings very recently?

DId Kent's loss to Unicorns cost them a place in the semis? Also heard that Key's century against Yorkshire was his first in 4 years.

Lancs finally get under way - and are 11-3. Going at a wicket per over.
