Probably I missed the thing about Lehmann. It happened a quite a time back. I remember now it was reported by some people after he was given out. But I read somewhere that it was picked up by broadcasters then.

It's farcical given how Aus players always abuse other teams and even get down to wife or sister abusing in some cases. Anyway. The floodgates have been opened. Now all it will take for any team to cheat and to get their players of choice from touring side out is to just tell the referee that someone in the team got called a monkey. Is this what cricket is going to end up in?

Nope, if you paid attention you'd know that the only reason he was actually caught was because he admitted that it was him. He said some other stupid things, but he did admit that he made the racist remark in question.

If Aus thinks being called monkey is a racist [Though Bhajji has denied it outright and it is still the word of Aus players against his without a shred of evidence] than India too thinks being called a bastard is a racist. Maybe it's good for the game because now ICC will have to justify Harbhajan banning and keeping such frivolous claims in the future at bay by having to get more tough with players who sledge and abuse.

Why, I have never seen it used as a slur in the way Paki was. In fact I have never even seen it or heard about it being used outside of cricket forums. Even C4 Ed never objected to it.
