Re: So Harbhajan is a Rascist is he?
It's nothing like the P word in Britain. I have never heard it used outside of cricket forums either.
It's on the same level as Poms,Saffies & Sheepshaggers.

the word 'subi' started out as a harmless term, but then degenerated pretty quick with racial undertones.

Completely offensive to certain people on this forum. So basically your saying it's not a real word then? Interesting when I have just read through 20 pages of rubbish where people are trying to justify its existence as a word.

Absolute tripe.
As I said even C4 ED didn't object to it, and he objected to everything.

A simple lack of respect really.
analogy
The differences being that Australia is a nation-state and I assume that everyone there has or has access to Australian citizenship and the majority identify themselves as Australian. The subcontinent isn't a nation and people there aren't "subcontinental citizens". They don't have a subcontinental passport and the majority identify with the country they live in.
I'm sure the same is true of almost anywhere. Egyptians see themselves as Egyptian first and African second.
Besides, the Indian (see that's not so hard is it?) forummers on this board obviously have a problem with being called "subis" whereas Australians don't have a problem with being called Australians. And don't start the "I'd quite like to be called a wozzie, tozzie, crozzie, wiggedly-bum, rubbish". They're not even words.
Put it this way, if you had an Indian friend, you wouldn't introduce him to other friends as a subcontinental. You'd say he's from India. Same goes for someone from one of the African countries. Or Europe.
The most rational post I have read.

The C4 Editor is the ultimate arbiter. So its okay with the editor so that makes it fine. Typical.

In C4, people were not allowed to fall into a pattern of 'short subi' , 'thick subi' , 'Subi FTB' , 'Subi Whiner' , 'Subi loser' , 'Subi doesn't do Irony' , 'Ugly Subi' etc as certain postors from Aus are doing on this forum.
If their posts were pointed out on C4, they would have their a*** handed over to them.
Re: So Harbhajan is a Rascist is he?
I've never seen anyone object to the word subi to describe sub-continental teams on this forum.

the objections started when Aus forumites started using it in certain context. Mostly demeaning and mocking and I dare say racist.
Re: So Harbhajan is a Rascist is he?
I still cannot comprehend how someone thinks its okay to use the word because the C4 editor allowed it. Moron.
You would think the Oxford Dictionary, Academics, Intelligentsia, Historians, nationals, illuminaries etc would know a thing or two about the word Subi moreso than the C4 editor.

Well since it has been used exclusively on cricket forums as far as I see, I would doubt if they have ever heard of the term. Cretin.

She has analysed tac's character. He is just running around everywhere using the Subi.
Apparently nothing goes of his father. And there is no moderation here .. so he is busy getting his sadistic jollies.
Re: So Harbhajan is a Rascist is he?
Ossie (which sounds like Aussie) is an offensive racist term in Germany.

Careful Taips, Pete is sole arbiter of what is rational comment and what is not.

Or convict, which gets a fair going over by many on this forum and others.

Not at all .. references to Poms are mostly used by Aus/Enzed/Canada which are the same racial phenotype.

I always wondered why Ardilles ended up at Tottenham and not Bayern Munich!!Pete wrote:Ossie (which sounds like Aussie) is an offensive racist term in Germany.

Yet your friends argue that it is a real word used in the real world...... Bell-end!
