skully wrote:You are the lowest of low life qunts I've ever had the displeasure to lock horns with. To make your point you deliberately target my wife's disease, after she's just spent a week on blood transfusions to keep her on the planet. You and you only would stoop to such a pathetic level.
I have a number of friends with Down Syndrome kiddies, and mentioned that Smith had picked up the handle. They laughed.
I hope Frommie is watching.
So do i. Read my post you silly qunt. I did not target your wife. I pointed out that you would be pissed off if someone used a cancer related nick.

Re: Ashes 2013 Nicknames
Peter and I were having a discussion, you butted in with the disease that you know is making my life tough, and did it to support the case against my position. It was weak in the extreme and you knew full well it'd hit a raw spot, particularly after the tough last week.
"Well played".
"Well played".

Idiot.
The objections to Downie started a few days back. It just seems hypocritical that you are prepared to make fun of others afflictions but go ape when it is too close to you.
As I said you have no clue to who you might be hurting with your attitude. All I was saying is put yourself I their place.

Re: Ashes 2013 Nicknames
And you have no clue how much your cancer barbs nail me (particularly after a bad week), and you care even less. I've targetted nobody, made the point clearly that nobody has a gun to their head to use any nicknames listed.
And yet you decided you'd join in and play the "I-know-what-will-unravel-skully card - his wife's disease".
You really are the lowest piece of shit on this forum. No wonder Matshelane wanted to hunt you down and gut you.
I'm out. I'll leave you to defend your position for the rest of the evening.

The point is that you don't even know that there might be people who you are targetting and what is even sicker you don't even care.
I don't have to defend any position. I am pretty sure that anyone with half a brain will understand my position.

At the risk of incurring wrath on both sides::::
Calm down a bit, folks.
Especially if you don't rate the other guy, it makes no sense to lock yourself in a furnace.

TBH, I know what both of them are saying. They both have a point. I just wish they'd STFU.
Re: Ashes 2013 Nicknames
Hello Everyone
This thread is getting a little out of hand. I can see skully has logged off to calm down. Perhaps taipan should do the same.
A polite reminder to all posters that baiting (whether you believe it unintentional or not) posters about personal information such as family illness is indeed very poor form.
I could shut this thread down, but the last time I took action there was a bit of an outcry.
I find it ironic that this thread has become heated over suggested censorship i.e. questioning use of certain nicknames. As has been pointed out, there is no compulsion to use any of the suggestions listed.
Please play nice.
Regards
Fromage

Re: Ashes 2013 Nicknames
Warne calling Bell the Shermanator again. I thought he'd been upgraded to The Terminator after all those runs last series?
Re: Ashes 2013 Nicknames
I humbly suggest that Bell have a new nickname "BoB"....short for for the Baron of Belf which I am ER will bestow on the little chump...err ....chimp....err (c'mon Horrie concede) champ

Re: Ashes 2013 Nicknames
There's a few Bell ones missing - Shermanator, Belfohl (TM), Ronnie, I Ron Cubbard...
Bairstow - Jonny B Good/Shite, Sloop, Jonny Knicks, sure there's one or two more...
Skully, can you put the updated list on page 6 into the initial post?

The point of this is to capture any of those that appear and are used more than once, for quick recognition rather than sorting through the glossary. Obviously those that are/may become long term fixtures in the forum vocabulary will make it in there.

Many thanks, Neil. She's had a long battle but continues to defy the very long odds. Unfortch it's not about recovery (liver cancer), but survival.
