Ouch! Well he's looking good now.
I think Windies best pick Bishoo for the next Test

Heh. Good little interview with Blackwood. Seems a likeable bloke

spot on...has there been a more mouthy grub of a bowler who when batting stood next to the square leg umpire?

Hurst was pretty quiet and was completely void of talent as a batsman...another cold play.
Broad does not fit this category; he actually has talent with the bat

Hehehe.
Fair point both and upon reflection I think I wouldn't be unhappy to actually see it play out that way.

Anyone notice how Gower is now ignoring his mentor Richie Benaud's advice by droning on and on
and on and on.... rather than letting the picture tell the story?
God, how he loves the sound of his voice ... trouble is, when he's on commentary, it's non stop.

That's not true. Gower was on commentary yesterday and there was no commentary for two overs.

I've heard Gower waffle on and on... usually I'm completely mashed out of my brains and it sort of becomes a blur.

I can only think he was in the crapper for those 2 overs.
He incessantly drones now ...
In complete contrast to the Benaud edict to which Gower ironically subscribes.
The two Yorkies cracking on now ... time to inflate those averages, boys!!

So is Ballance's plan to grind to a ton whilst the others carry the burden of getting the scoreboard moving?

Balance has a plan?!
I thought his job was to score at 38 runs per 100 balls ...
Well, I guess you are right!
That is a plan!
Declare tomorrow lunchtime - to be on the safe side.

Re: West Indies v England, 1st Test, Antigua, 13-17 April 2015
Good ton by Ballance overall, yeah he crabbed it and he deserves a bitch slap for that, but in the circumstances he came into, it's not the worst.
Still think he's an lbw candidate

4 centuries in first 9 Tests, an achievement only matched (or in one case bettered) in England colours by Herbert Sutcliffe, Peter Parfitt and Andrew Strauss.

He's in trouble as soon as bowlers stop feeding his cut shot.

Well, hopefully they will allow him 25 centuries and 8000 runs first, as they did with Cook.

Decent declaration really, 20 mins before tea. 438 runs ahead. Probably could've declared half an hour ago, but that was never going to happen

Hehehe.
Even half that would be useful.
I don't think he's quite as robotic a mover as Cook so hopefully he'll be able to score off the pitched-up ball a little bit easier. But he may well have other weaknesses which have yet to be fully exposed (this summer will be revealing).

Bravo doesn't like the short stuff it would appear. Say what you like about Broad, he knows how to bowl a bouncer even if he's lost 4 / 5 mph in speed.
